L. Dekon “Psychology. How to understand yourself and other people

Educational program in psychology from a professional. Exercises and tests as a bonus.

The book by clinical psychologist Louise Dacon is a kind of sightseeing tour for all those who are ready to say about themselves: “I am interested in psychology, I like to study human behavior” – but do not very clearly understand what this science really does. Louise Dacon briefly and very clearly outlines the basic concepts of psychology, fascinatingly talks about the achievements of science and practice, about famous psychological experiments and scientists. The book is similar to a textbook, but only in its structure. Otherwise, it is an entertaining, even a game manual, it contains a lot of tests and exercises, you can find out your social or emotional intelligence, check the properties of memory, clarify your personality traits, learn to recognize truth and lies by looking at your interlocutor, you can learn a lot of new things about about themselves and those around them, about the difference in the psychology of men and women, about aggression and moral principles, and about many other things. Well, this guide to psychology ends with the chapter for which in most cases such books are taken up – “The Psychology of Happiness.” Of course, its readers will hardly succeed in finding happiness once and for all, but a practical exercise “how to increase optimism” will come in handy for sure!
