Kumquat liqueur: a recipe at home
Ingredients
Kumquat – 1 kg
Vodka – 1 l
Sugar – 1 kg
Method of preparation
To begin with, each kumquat fruit must be pierced with a toothpick in 2-3 places.
Then we shift the prepared fruits into a glass container, add sugar and pour the alcohol base. We insist the drink for 14 days in a dark place and shake the contents daily so that the sugar is completely dissolved.
After two weeks, the liquor must be filtered and bottled.
Now the liquor needs to be infused, for this we transfer it to a dark, cool place and leave it for 1 month (ideally 6 months).
You can safely experiment with the alcoholic component and use instead of ordinary vodka: rum, cognac, brandy, alcohol or moonshine without a strong odor.
And do not throw away the alcoholized mini-oranges after insisting, but use them in cooking for making desserts or sauces. You can also eat them as a treat.
