There are many preparations on the market that contain Kudzu – one of the basic herbs used in traditional Chinese medicine. It has been known in the East for centuries, and in Asian countries it is added to dishes. It is an excellent addition to thickening jellies, soups, sauces and, more importantly, it has unique healing properties.

However, the best healing properties are not in tablets, but in ordinary, powdered root of the plant. In tablets and other preparations available on the market, we often find harmful substances that destroy the intestinal bacterial flora and do not give such spectacular effects.

Historia Kudzu

Scientists from Harvard became interested in this Asian plant in the 90s. At that time, they managed to isolate a substance from it that reduces the attraction to alcohol by up to 90%. Kudzu is effective in the treatment of various harmful addictions – attraction to alcohol, cigarettes, drugs and overeating.

In traditional Chinese medicine, Kudzu root has been used to:

  • addiction treatment,
  • Detoxifying and cleansing the body,
  • depression treatment,
  • alleviating digestive problems,
  • equalizing body temperature,
  • Regulating metabolism,
  • Deacidification of the body (because it is alkaline).

Except that, kudzu has bactericidal properties, and also supports immunity and improves the well-being and condition of the body in the period of weakness. What else is worth taking Kudzu for:

  • For migraines and severe headaches,
  • Slimming, because it has a clogging effect and reduces appetite,
  • For memory and concentration
  • Weakness, stress, fatigue, because it supports the regeneration of the body,
  • body detox,
  • Menopause and andropause.

Where to get Kudzu?

Currently, we can get them in almost every pharmacy, in various forms. However, as already mentioned, the best option is the powdered root, without any additives. Kudzu relieves hangover symptoms, withdrawal effects (nervousness, nausea, muscle tremors, flushing), has antioxidant and anti-cancer effects, supports the cardiovascular system, supports the functioning of all organs and neutralizes unhealthy substances.

One way to consume Kudzu is to prepare a health drink. For this we need 1 teaspoon of Kudzu powder, 2-3 teaspoons of barley or rice malt OR half a cup of apple juice, 1 cup of cold water. Dissolve Kudzu in three tablespoons of water, then add the rest of the ingredients. We cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the solution does not become transparent, reduce the heat and cook for a while. The drink should be drunk hot.
