Kruger

Kruger is a Russian brand of Tomsk Pivo, which appeared in the year of the 125th anniversary of the company. The brand is named after the founder of the plant – the German brewer Karl Krueger. The recipe and technology were developed with the direct participation of the “braumeister” from Austria Hubert Auinger. In 2012, the related line “Private brewery R.I. Kruger, named after the founder’s nephew, Robert, who managed the company from 1890 for 30 years.

Today, Kruger beer is brewed from natural Russian and European raw materials according to traditional recipes. In addition to the flagship varieties, Tomskoe Pivo produces several popular lines of intoxicating drink, including Cesky Dzbanek, GOST, Firmnoe, Bohemskoe according to the 1884 recipe. Products are delivered to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Russian regions, China, Mongolia, Kazakhstan. The company is a leader in the production of draft beer in Russia.

Historical information

The Kruger Brewery was founded in 1876, but as a result of the transfer of factory lands for the construction of the Imperial University, the owners moved the enterprise to another place and began full-fledged activity in 1884. Six years later, the founder’s nephew became the tenant and then the owner of the business. At the turn of the century, the new owner carried out a large-scale reconstruction and brought the annual capacity of the plant to 50 decaliters. The assortment included popular beers such as Bogemskoe, Munichskoe, Pilzenskoe, Gambrinus, Kozel, Black Velvet.

With the introduction of the Dry Law in 1914, the enterprise fell into decay, and after the approval of the Soviet government, the brewery was redesigned. A minor modernization was carried out on the eve of the Great Patriotic War, but the real renovation of the plant began after the privatization of 1994.

1997-2007 – a decade of technical re-equipment, when the plant was equipped with equipment from Alfa Laval, Huppmann, Ziemann, KHS, Sig Simonazzi, Jorg, used by the best breweries in Europe, Japan, and the USA. In 2000, Tomsk Pivo became the first West Siberian food company to receive the ISO 9002 quality management certificate.

In 2009, Kruger beer was presented as a new flagship line, which was created by an Austrian specialist. In 2012, the brand “Private brewery R.I. Kruger”, three varieties of Kruger beer from which (Lager, Dunkel, Pilsner) in the same year received gold medals as the best goods of Eurasia at the international festival “Gemma”. The same intoxicating drinks received the highest awards at the 2013 Sochi Beer Forum.

Kruger Premium Pils, 5,0%

Light beer of a golden hue with persistent foam and a characteristic deep aroma. Brewed according to a traditional recipe for the 125th anniversary of the brewery. It has the right rich taste with a long bitterness of noble hops in the aftertaste.

Kruger Gold, 6,5%

Strong light beer with a noticeable wine flavor and a light hop aroma. Brewed from a mixture of light barley and caramel malt with the addition of rice and sugar. It has a rich taste with a sweet dominant and a subtle hop bitterness.

Kruger Dark, 4,0%

A dark, almost coffee-colored beer with a creamy head. The aroma has delicate notes of burnt sugar with a subtle whiff of hops. Moderately sweet weak drink without traces of bitterness. The taste is soft, characteristic of European dark varieties.

Kruger Traditional, 4,9%

A pale yellow-golden lager with a dense and stable head. It has a balanced rich taste without a predominance of sweetness and sourness. Hop bitterness is expressed only in the aftertaste.

Kruger Pilsner 4,0%

Beer of a golden hue with a pronounced hop aroma. The taste is both light and rich. The drink is well refreshing and is remembered by unobtrusive bitterness in the aftertaste. Without sweet notes, which will especially appeal to men.

“Kruger Lager”, 4,2%

German-style lager according to a traditional recipe and classic technology. Golden drink with low foam. Produced in small volumes, it has a balanced mild taste without obvious bitterness.
