The assortment portfolio of the enterprise contains cognacs of all categories: from ordinary to vintage and collection. In addition to cognacs, the plant produces table, dessert and semi-sweet wines, port wine and Madeira.

Historical reference. The brand logo shows the date – 1879. This is a reference to the very beginning of industrial winemaking in Koktebel, at the origins of which stood the father and son Junge. It is they who have the merit of laying huge vineyards and building a winery with cellars, as well as introducing a scientific approach to making wines.

The starting point in the modern history of the plant is usually read in 1958, when its construction began on the slopes of Mount Kuchuk-Yanyshar. Although the basis for successful work was laid back in 1944 – at the time of the creation of a state farm-factory based on two vineyards. Mikhail Makedonsky, who headed the enterprise, set to work from scratch: at that time, Koktebel had no more than 200 hectares of vineyards. Today, their area is more than 2200 hectares, on which 30 varieties of grapes are grown. For the production of cognacs, spirits from the grapes Rkatsiteli, Galan, Shabash, and a number of European varieties are used.

After the war, cognac materials from Bulgaria received as a reparation formed the basis for the experiments of the plant’s technologists. The first batch of ordinary three-star cognac was produced here in 1965, and two years later the collection was replenished with vintage varieties Koktebel, Karadag, and Krym. Using foreign experience, own long-term research, knowledge of local climatic features and soil composition, the plant was the first on the peninsula to start industrial production of cognacs.

Koktebel

In the last third of the XNUMXth century, Koktebel constantly increased its capacity, took part in international competitions and exhibitions, and developed its production and social infrastructure. The gate at the entrance to the territory of the plant was decorated with the inscription: “Country of Cognac” – this place has become one of the most popular objects of wine tourism. It even issued its own currency – bronze souvenir coins, which were given as a keepsake to the participants of the tasting tours.

The economic crisis at the beginning of the 2012st century had a negative impact on the company’s stability. In XNUMX, the manufacturer was declared bankrupt, the sale of its property and the splitting of assets began. Currently, part of the vineyards has been leased, KD Koktebel LLC is in bankruptcy management. According to some experts, due to the uncertainty of the situation, cognacs of the Koktebel brand may move into the category of collections and their value will grow. According to other data, the plant continues to operate and manufacture products, counting on the interest of new investors.
