Klabax 125 mg / 5 ml, -250 mg / 5 ml is an antibacterial drug for systemic use. Macrolide antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections. It is used in infections of the upper and lower respiratory tract, skin infections and acute otitis media. Clarithromycin is the active substance of the preparation. Klabax is a medicine whose active substance is clarithromycin. It is issued in the form of granules and is used in the following cases;

  1. upper respiratory tract infection,
  2. lower respiratory tract infections,
  3. skin and subcutaneous tissue infections,
  4. acute otitis media.

Klabax 125 mg / 5 ml, -250 mg / 5 ml and contraindications

  1. Hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation and other macrolide antibiotics,
  2. parallel use of derivatives of ergot alkaloids, astemizole, terfenadine, cisapride, pimozide, statins (lovastatin, simvastatin, atorvastatin),
  3. hypokalemia,
  4. severe hepatic failure coexisting with renal impairment,
  5. congenital or acquired QT prolongation
  6. ventricular arrhythmias, including those of the type twist of points.

Dosage

Kids.

  1. 6 month old-12. age. 7,5 mg / kg body weight twice / day for 2-5 days (depending on body weight: 10-8 kg – 11 mg twice / day; 62,5-2 kg – 12 mg twice / day; 19-125 kg – 2 mg twice / day; 20-29 kg – 187,5 mg twice / day).
  2. In the treatment of severe infections, the maximum dose is 500 mg twice / day. Do not administer in acute liver and kidney failure.

Klabax in the form of granules for the preparation of a suspension is intended for oral use. The granules should be mixed with the required amount of water and the bottle should be shaken vigorously to obtain a homogeneous suspension. The prepared suspension can be taken with or without food. The bottle should be shaken before each use. The suspension should be measured using the syringe or measuring spoon provided in the package. The syringe allows you to measure out a smaller volume more accurately.

Be careful:

  1. in people with renal insufficiency and in the elderly,
  2. in the event of any of the following symptoms of liver disease: lack of appetite, jaundice, dark urine, itching or pain in the abdomen, you should immediately consult a doctor who will inform you about further treatment,
  3. taking Klbax 125 mg / 5 ml, -250 mg / 5 ml for the treatment of Helicobacter pylori infection may cause the development of drug-resistant microorganisms,
  4. Klabax 125 mg / 5 ml, -250 mg / 5 ml has no influence on the ability to drive and use machines,
  5. do not use the drug during pregnancy,
  6. breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before use,
  7. the medicine in the form of granules for oral suspension contains sucrose, therefore people with hereditary problems of fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrase-isomaltase insufficiency should not take it.

The drug may cause, inter alia: abnormal dreams, seizures, lack of taste, olfactory hallucinations, anosmia, deafness, torsade de pointes, ventricular tachycardia, haemorrhage, acute pancreatitis, tongue discoloration, tooth discoloration, liver failure, parenchymal jaundice, Stevens-Johnson syndrome toxic epidermal necrolysis, drug rash with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms, ophthalmology, renal failure, interstitial nephritis, increased international normalized factor (INR), prolonged prothrombin time, abnormal color of urine.
