Even from the most ordinary products, you can make an unusual dessert. Carrot cake with a pear layer is a vivid example of this. Grind 4 raw peeled carrots on a fine grater. Knead the dough from 200 ml of odorless vegetable oil, 250 g of sugar, 4 eggs, 300 g of flour with 1 tsp of baking powder and a pinch of salt. Add grated carrots, zest and juice of 1 orange. Pour the dough into an oiled baking dish with a diameter of at least 20 cm. Bake the base at 180°C for 40-45 minutes. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a frying pan. Pour 3 pears into a small cube, add 100 g of sugar with 1 tsp of cinnamon and 1 tbsp of starch, caramelize for 5 minutes. For the cream, beat with a mixer 50 g of sugar and 200 g of homemade sour cream with a fat content of at least 30-34 %.
We cut the ready carrot cake lengthwise into 2 parts, lubricate one with sour cream and spread the pear filling. Cover with the second half and smear the cake with cream from all sides.
