Kitchens with a bay window are common in modern homes. But successful planning and decorative solutions for such premises are rare. One of them is in front of you. Take over ideas!
Dining room kitchen interior
This black and white interior may seem too contrasting to someone for everyday life, but the owner of the apartment asked for such a color scheme. And she also wanted that in the kitchen, in addition to a furniture set with a set of necessary built-in household appliances, there was a place for a dining group and a recreation area. In general, the decorator needed to combine the kitchen, dining room and living room. And he succeeded.
The presence of a bay window and a fairly large kitchen area (4 x 3,2 m) made it possible to arrange a symmetrical layout. The central place – in the bay window – is reserved for the dining group. Along the parallel walls, there is a working area on one side, and a seating area (a sofa and lockers above it) on the other, which can also be called a guest area.

Designer opinion
I like to work in different styles, but I prefer classic directions such as Provence, Art Deco and Art Nouveau. The characteristic features of Art Deco are a strict regularity of composition, ideal proportions, geometric patterns, the use of elements of the styles of the past. And of course, an avant-garde take on luxury, impeccable quality materials, bold contrasts and vibrant colors. Hence the decision of this interior. The floor is paved with “checkerboard” tiles. The oval table and soft chairs are a tribute to the classics. Simple and functional kitchen furniture, a glossy black ceiling and a sofa that echoes with it are elements of modernity. Rope curtains are an oriental motif.
1. Since the central heating radiators were not changed during the renovation, it was decided to decorate them. The black painted furniture board is the base on which two oval carved frames were attached, also black. A mosaic of mirror fragments was glued inside these frames.

2. The ornament on the kitchen “apron” was applied by the manufacturer of kitchen furniture according to the sketches of the decorator. But on the opposite wall, the image is made using a similar stencil with white acrylic paint. Moreover, the surface was previously painted black.
3. The decorator used two techniques to visually divide the space. The first is a different color of the ceiling: gloss black over the living room and work area and matt white in the bay window, over the dining group. The second technique is light rope curtains in a contrasting black color.
