“Each of us has a story to tell!” – such a motto was invented by cognac producers, specialists of the Moscow wine and cognac factory “KiN”. The slogan is about the difficult history of the drink, and that cognac is especially good during serious and not so serious, business and friendly conversations. Cognacs of TM “Kinovsky” have a number of awards, but only Russian – medals of Moscow and St. Petersburg wine and spirits competitions, honorary diplomas of exhibitions in Sochi and Yalta.
Historical reference. The intriguing name “Kinovsky” comes from the prosaic abbreviation KiN – “Concentrates and Drinks”, which became part of the name of the plant during the three-year Prohibition in Russia. This happened after the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR “On strengthening the fight against drunkenness” in 1985 – the factory of Dagestan wines and cognacs was renamed.
The history of the plant began in pre-war 1940, when a small enterprise for the production of kvass, syrups and fruit drinks was opened in Khimki near Moscow. Reconstruction of production and expansion of the range due to wines and cognac began in 1972. But then the ill-fated decree struck, paralyzing the production of alcohol for three years, until Mikhail Gorbachev stopped it in 1988. By that time, the plant had been renamed and almost re-profiled – the basis of the assortment was carbonated sweet drinks.
It was possible to restore the production of wines by 1994, it was then that the company received a new name that still exists. And three years later, in 1997, the plant was the first in Russia to start importing French raw materials, to produce cognacs on its basis and using classic French technologies.
The first “Kinovsky” cognac was produced in 2005, for the 65th anniversary of the plant. A three-year-old drink that immediately attracted the attention of connoisseurs. And after 3 years, in 2008, they released a four-year-old “Kinovsky”, then, in 2009 – “Kinovsky” category KV (KV – aged cognac, created from spirits that are at least six years old).
A new stage in the development of the Russian brand began in 2013, when five and seven year old drinks were added to the line of three-, four- and six-year-old cognacs.
The line seemed to “flatten out”. In addition, the design has changed somewhat:
- in the upper right corner of the label appeared a number indicating the years of exposure;
- the bottle has become taller and thinner, and its bottom is thicker.
At the same time, the color scheme of labels and caps, which is considered a corporate code, was retained: blue, red, burgundy and black labels with a golden frame still adorn the drink bottles.
