Kimberly strawberry is an early ripening variety that was developed in Holland. This variety is loved for its rich caramel flavor and presentable appearance. The culture is unpretentious in cultivation and care, resistant to cold and frost, has good immunity to major diseases and pests.

“Kimberly” grows in small and strong bushes and has a developed root system. There are not many leaves on the bush, they are oval in shape with a glossy sheen. Bush formation is average. “Kimberly” produces large cone-shaped fruits weighing up to 50 mg, they are bright red in color. All berries grow to the same size. It tastes sweet and caramel, but not sugary.

The variety belongs to the species with an early ripening period. In the southern regions, the first berries can already be obtained in late May – early June. Due to the fact that the plant has strong peduncles, the berries do not fall to the ground and are well preserved on the bush. The fruiting period is short – 2-3 weeks.

To grow the Kimberly variety, you need to choose a flat area on the southern side of the garden, which will be well lit by the sun and reliably protected from the winds. The optimal planting dates are mid-spring, late summer or early autumn. The bushes are planted at a distance of at least 30 cm from each other.
Strawberries of this type are not recommended for planting in hot weather.
“Kimberly” is not too capricious in the choice of soil, it is recommended to fertilize any soil in advance. To do this, you can use humus or rotted manure. Wood ash is introduced into the soil with a high level of acidity.
In the first week after planting, the plant should be watered daily. The earth must be kept loose. It is also important to remove weeds in time. To maintain the soil in the desired condition, it is recommended to mulch it with dry cut grass.
“Kimberly” has good frost resistance. However, in regions with severe winters, you should cover the strawberry beds with sawdust or spruce branches.
