The Austrian Kika Group, one of Europe’s largest retailers in the home improvement and home improvement market, enters the Russian market.

According to the newspaper , the company considers its main competitor in Russia to be the Swedish IKEA, which owns 11 stores in the country.
The first Kika store will open in mid-December 2008. The landlord “Roseurodevelopment” will provide the company with 15 sites in Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Rostov-on-Don, Tyumen and other cities of Russia.
The Kika Group is the largest home improvement and home improvement retailer in Austria. The company’s first store was opened in Vienna in 1973. Kika operates 64 stores, 33 of which are located in Australia and 6 in Hungary. The main assortment is interior accessories and furniture. About 10 percent of the products sold are Kika’s own products.
