Despite the fact that grapes are a heat-loving plant, they are grown in many regions of Our Country, even in areas of risky farming. One of the favorite varieties is Kesha grapes. It has a high yield and tasty berries.
The plant grows well, the yield increases year by year. The main thing is to follow the rules of care and cultivation, take into account the characteristics of the variety. Experienced gardeners are advised to have at least a few bushes of the variety on their vineyard so that you can enjoy tasty and fragrant fruits.
Variety description
Grapes Kesha refers to large-fruited and high-yielding varieties. The authors are breeders VNIIViV them. ME AND. Potapenko. The parents of the Kesha variety are Frumoas Albe and Delight grapes. Kesha is often referred to as FV-6-5 or Delight Upgraded.
- Kesha grapes, according to the description of the variety, are early ripe, technical maturity occurs 4-4,5 months after the buds have blossomed, that is, the middle or end of August.
- Plants are tall, grow up to 5 meters per season. The flowers are bisexual, so there are no problems with pollination.
- There is practically no pea on large clusters. They differ in density and tightness. The length of the bunch is about 24 cm. The brushes themselves are conical or cylindrical in shape and have a long stem. The weight of one bunch of the Kesha variety is from 600 grams to one kilogram.
It is necessary to monitor the bushes and avoid overloading: no more than two brushes on one shoot.
- Based on the description of the grape variety, the berries are initially green, in technical ripeness they are pale yellow, as in the photo below.
- The fruits of this grape variety are homogeneous, with sweet pulp. The skin is dense, but when eaten it does not cause inconvenience. But during transportation, the berries do not crumple, they retain an excellent presentation. In sweet berries, with a delicate aroma of flowers, only 2-3 seeds. Sugar 20-25%, acids 4,8-8 g/l. The shape of the berries, weighing up to 14 grams, is rounded.
Characteristic grapes
The characteristics are excellent, which increases the popularity of the variety among gardeners:
- Table Kesha grapes are frost-resistant, withstand temperatures down to -23 degrees, which is why it is grown even in regions with risky farming.
- It has excellent keeping quality: shelf life in the refrigerator is long.
- Transportability is high, so grapes are grown not only in garden plots, but also on an industrial scale.
- Rooting cuttings and early fruiting. With proper care, the first bunches can be removed in a row for two years.
- The plant is unpretentious in care, resistant to many grape diseases, including mildew. But bacterial diseases and oidium without treatment (two or even three times during the growing season) with Bordeaux liquid and fungicides are almost impossible to avoid.
Care and growing
The grapes of this variety, as well as its hybrid variants, are lovers of sunny places and fertile soil. It is necessary to plant cuttings of grapes of the first and second generation mixed with other varieties, since self-pollination will not occur if there is only one variety. After all, the flowers are only female.
Watering is necessary uniform, with sufficient rainfall only twice a year. Grapes are fed with phosphorus-potassium fertilizers once a year. During the vegetative period, pruning of shoots is carried out so that the plant is not overloaded.
According to gardeners, grapes and their descendants need shelter, despite their frost resistance. Therefore, after autumn feeding and pruning, the vine is removed from the trellis and covered well.
Varieties of cashews
The Kesha grape variety has its own ancestral line of the first and second generations. It is difficult for beginners to understand them, since they are similar in description and taste, although there are still differences:
- variety Kesha;
- the first generation – Kesha – 1 (Super Kesha or Talisman, Kesha radiant);
- second generation – Kesha – 2 (Kesha nutmeg, Zlatogor, Tamirlan).
Description of Kesha 1
And now the detailed information about the variety:
- Grape variety Talisman (Super Kesha) is a table form with medium early ripening (from 127 to 135 days). It is more resistant than its parent to many fungal diseases, grape pests and frost.
- The flowers are female, requiring additional pollination. In this case, the pea is practically not observed. If the procedure was carried out out of time or incorrectly, then the clusters will look like in this photo.
- The clusters of Talisman grapes are large, weighing up to a kilogram, have a conical shape, often dense.
- The berries are large, each weighing about 14 grams. There are specimens up to 16 grams.
- Talisman is an amber grape variety with a muscat aroma and a spicy sweet taste.

Kesha 2 was obtained by crossing Kesha 1 with Kishmish. The variety ripens early (120 days), which allows you to create vineyards in the northern regions of Our Country.
