Karolina Czarnecka on being a bone marrow donor: I’ve been waiting for my genetic twin for nine years

– I waited nine years for my genetic twin. For the first year, I still thought that they could call me right away – recalled actress Karolina Czarnecka, who was a guest on the Onet Rano program. – This decision was something natural, I had no fear – she explained in an interview with Beata Tadla.

On October 13, we celebrate the Marrow Donor Day. On this occasion, the Onet Rano Wiem program hosted: Karolina Czarnecka – an actress and bone marrow donor, and Dr. Tigran Torosian – an internist and hematologist.

– I waited 9 years for my genetic twin to contact me. Though I’ve actually stopped waiting. At the beginning, when I registered in the database, I waited for the first year, I thought they would call me right away. Then not anymore – said the actress Karolina Czarnecka. When asked by Beata Tadla whether she did it consciously and knew what the consequences of registering in the DKMS database, Czarnecka replied that the decision was a natural thing for her. – I had no worries, I wasn’t afraid for myself, I didn’t think about it – she said.
