The availability of ingredients, ease of preparation and a beautiful legend have made the Kamikaze cocktail one of the most recognizable alcoholic drinks in the world. It is on the menu of establishments of different price levels, and true connoisseurs cook it themselves at home.
Historical information
The Kamikaze cocktail appeared in one of the bars in Tokyo at the end of World War II. The creator (the name has not been preserved) named the drink in honor of the legendary suicide pilots who rammed American ships in the Pacific Ocean on planes filled with explosives.
After the war, the cocktail was appreciated by drinkers in Europe and the USA. Now “Kamikaze” is considered a classic, it is served in all the prestigious bars of the world. It tastes like a Screwdriver (vodka with orange juice), but more refined and refined.
Kamikaze cocktail recipe
Composition and proportions:
- vodka – 30 ml;
- orange liqueur (Triple sec, Cointreau or Blue Curacao) – 30 ml;
- lemon or lime juice – 30 ml;
- ice cubes – 100 grams.
If you replace Cointreau (Triple Sec) with Blue Curaçao orange liqueur, you get a Blue Kamikaze cocktail with the same taste as the classic, but in the original color. Many more like to halve the proportions by pouring a cocktail into a glass (shot) with a volume of 45 ml, which is drunk in one gulp.
Preparation
1. Mix all ingredients in a shaker.
2. Pour the drink through a strainer (strainer) into a chilled cocktail glass (martini glass).
3. Garnish with a slice of lemon.
