Kamaliya – singer who became Mrs. World

In her homeland, Natalya Shmarenkova is a famous singer and performs under the stage name Kamaliya.

In total, contestants from 40 countries of the world took part in the show, held in Kaliningrad. The first vice-miss of the world in 2008 was the representative of Singapore, Colin Francisca-Mason, and the second vice-miss – “Mrs. Belarus” Ekaterina Ganago, who lives in the USA.

The Mrs. World competition was first organized in 1977 with the active participation of American millionaire David Marmel. Its forerunner was the “Mrs. America” contest, which was widely popular in the USA. All married women, from very young to mothers of families and even grandmothers, can take part in it.

Although beauty remains the main criterion, the jury also takes into account many other factors: the contestants’ views on family life, their attitude to what is happening in the world, their professional activities.

Natalya Viner, Executive Director of the “Mrs. World 2008” competition in Russia, noted in this regard that participation in the competition prolongs the life of a woman as a potential beauty queen, and “the presence of children, family and small wrinkles is only welcome.”
