Apart from the active substances, which include hop cones, valerian and hop bitterness, Kalms contains maltodextrin and anhydrous colloidal silicon dioxide. They are auxiliary substances that are included in the extracts. In turn, the core of the tablet consists of:

  1. corn starch,
  2. acacia gum,
  3. sucrose,
  4. stearic acid,
  5. sodium starch glycolate,
  6. magnesium stearate,
  7. colloidal silicon dioxide.

The shell includes:

  1. shellac varnish (shellac, pharmaceutical alcohols),
  2. sucrose,
  3. calcium carbonate,
  4. talk,
  5. acacia gum,
  6. titanium dioxide,
  7. mastercote white SP0950 G (titanium dioxide, sucrose, purified water, pharmaceutical alcohols).

Kalms – when should it be used?

The herbal drug Kalms can be taken by patients who have symptoms of nervous tension, as it relieves tension and emotions. The indication for the use of the preparation is also protection against stress recurrences that appear before falling asleep. In order for Kalms to be effective, it should be used over a longer period of time.

Kalms – dosage

Kalms can be taken by adults and children over the age of twelve. In the case of relieving the symptoms of stress stress, 1-3 tablets a day are used. The maximum dose is four tablets.

If we want to use Kalms as a sleep aid, we should take three tablets half an hour before bedtime. If necessary, a fourth tablet may be taken just before going to bed.

Valerian root extract can cause mild overdose symptoms, which include:

  3. pupil dilation,
  4. dizziness,
  5. tightness of the chest.

The herbal drug Kalms should not be combined with other synthetic sedative drugs. In addition, no interactions with other metabolized drugs were observed in laboratory studies.
