And although he did not win in all the categories of the next music award, as he was going to, he again managed to create a reason for gossip. He is hated or adored, but no one remains indifferent. This, of course, is about the superstar of Russian rap – Morgenstern. Why does it evoke so much emotion and what can it teach us? Psychologists say.
Morgenstern’s career in show business began not so long ago, but almost immediately he became the leader of all music charts, a blogger with a million audience and, perhaps, the most discussed artist in the country.
Either he will burn 100 thousand rubles for the camera, then he will donate 666 thousand rubles to charity, then he will receive the title of “Woman of the Year” … And the new reason for talking was
And while teenagers “fan” from a new idol, parents are horrified – what example does he set for children? He sings about sex, big money, calls for an unhealthy lifestyle … As we can see, emotions overcome everyone. But why?
Morgenstern is an important socio-psychological figure, says psychotherapist Irina Belousova. “There is an impression that everything that we observe is an interesting production that is thought up on the go by a dodgy brain,” she explains. – This is serious “psychological chess”, and for me personally, this is the creative genius of Morgenstern.
Alisher (this is the real name of the rapper) shows the public a picture that protest personalities love and conservative people hate. The former pay, while the latter raise an emotional wave and, as a result, also pay. And all this does not change the reality in any way – none, except for the financial reality of Alisher.
So what emotions does Morgenstern play on?
Interest
It goes against everything that comes to hand: with social, economic, political norms. “Alisher turns inside out not only moral principles, but also his own words. Demonstrates “zero” shame. And yet successful.
This is what creates a powerful response in the teenage environment, within which the protest vector is normal, ”Belousova emphasizes. In addition, the rapper earns well and openly shows his dominance.
“Money and status have always been sexy – it’s written into the subcortex of a person. This is the basis of the charisma construct, and people will always go after such characters. Agree: even if you are no longer a teenager, you would not refuse money and power. Therefore, you are furtively, but peeping, ”explains the psychologist.
Fear
Parents are afraid of everything that Alisher broadcasts. “The generation of fathers is very worried about their own educational insufficiency. And rightly so: holes in terms of authority are revealed at a time, if suddenly the example that Morgenstern sets becomes more significant than the example that mom or dad sets.
On the one hand, this is humiliating for parents. On the other hand, this is just a hard collision with reality: we are raising children in such a way that they are ready to run after the illusory and distant figure of a celebrity in a sports car … But how nice it is to wage war with the “windmill” instead of admitting defeat and finding time for a child !” Irina Belousova notes.
Anger
Many adults themselves would gladly protest against some of the realities of life, but they cannot afford it: they have something to lose. In this regard, they develop anger towards a person who allows himself to taste the forbidden fruit of rebellion, the psychologist believes.
“Loss of power is another reason for anger. When a child stops being a docile kid and becomes a stubborn teenager, many parents feel powerless, says Belousova. “They don’t want to look for an approach to him and solve family issues, they don’t care that the house is emotionally warm and the separation crisis passes in a positive way. But try to understand: there is a big difference between power and love.”
Envy
Once upon a time in our youth, some of us also wanted to get into the starry sky, but we did not dare. “We dreamed of a beautiful career, cool cars, a nice girl next to us, social success … And there were a hundred chances that we missed. The reminder of this hits narcissism great: you didn’t do it, the water has flowed.
And then the figure of Morgenstern causes envy. From the fact that we experience this feeling, neither our social success nor the state of the bank account will change. But we can still choose an area in which we are really good and use aggression for creative purposes, ”reminds Irina Belousova.
Jester’s strategy always goes beyond stereotypes
In turn, analytical psychologist Olga Sus emphasizes that the archetype of the Jester is fully revealed in the figure of Morgenstern, which largely explains the phenomenon of the rapper’s success.
“The Jester archetype manifests itself in human creators who play and entertain society. They are allowed to break the rules accepted in this society. They know how to be happy at the same time, like children, and experiment. But their strategy always goes beyond stereotypes, turns the usual on its head, makes you think, ”explains the psychologist.
At the same time, the same people have not only a light, but also a shadow manifestation of the archetype, which is also seen in the example of a rapper. “If in the light manifestation it is humor, irony, freedom, then in the shadow it is irresponsible behavior, laziness, gluttony and any other kind of unbridledness,” says Olga Sus.
“The jester is always truthful and false at the same time,” agrees Irina Belousova. But these two sides are in each of us. The only difference is that he is bolder, he acts, and the rest do not want to allow themselves this, hiding in prohibitions. The path of the Jester is his creativity. And creativity, in fact, is a controlled psychosis that opens access to the unconscious, the most powerful part of our psyche.
