Woman’s Day has learned from Braun beauty ambassador Jessica Alba the secrets of beauty and success.
My beauty idol can be a person who delights me with his actions no less than his appearance. For example, Jane Birkin – for natural, bohemian chic, and Diane Keaton – for a fun and unique way to wear menswear. They are not alike at all, but I love that they are always true to themselves. I can easily imagine myself in the image of impeccably graceful Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly, and at the same time I understand well why many women admire Kate Moss’s style: she looks equally bold, chic and sexy in an evening dress and in pajamas. Who doesn’t want to look the same?
My mom is really well versed and versed in self-care. She grew up in the south, in a family with many women, so she never left the house without putting herself in order. I grew up as a tomboy and in matters of beauty I went rather to my grandmother (she and I even look like two drops of water). She was always true to one thing, if it suited her: matte coral lipstick, light blush and shadows in natural shades. And it’s all. And yet she looked incredibly glamorous. This combination of elegance and showiness has always been a role model for me.
Everything I learned from looking at my mom, although this is not only about beauty. After all, looking good means feeling good. Beauty is a reflection of your inner strength, whether you leave the house with makeup and styling or not. It must be remembered that your skin is like a canvas, a base for make-up, so it is extremely important to take proper care of it. Moisturize first: Drinking plenty of water and using a moisturizer, applying moisturizers and protecting from the sun are an essential part of my daily routine.
Preparation is essential in any endeavor. Working on the character’s appearance is as important as learning the script, so you need to use the best means to get the best results. I know how difficult it is to achieve the same effect at home, but I found a way. Since it all starts with the skin, my lifesaver is Braun Silk-épil 9, which is suitable for the whole body. My skin is smooth and delicate – the feeling of being photoshopped in reality. And as a result, the hydration and makeup hold on much better. Less costs with better results is exactly what all professionals strive for. I also learned that it is important to emphasize one thing, for example, all the focus on smokey ice and a drop of neutral lip gloss.
My hair is struggling with the constant styling for filming and events. And if in the morning I got up and realized that today is not the best day for hair, then I do not panic, as I understand that these are the consequences of work. In such cases, I am in no hurry to apply all kinds of cosmetics to my hair or straighten it with a styler, although this is usually the first thing that can come to my head. Along with lip gloss or mascara, the Braun Satin-Hair 7 comb should always be in every girl’s purse, so you can quickly and easily tidy up at any time. And my love of hats is also a real salvation for me at the end of the day – you can never tell if this hat adorns me like that, or what is under it.
100%! And it’s not just about the appearance, as gorgeous skin means healthy skin. It requires daily care, regardless of fashion and trends. And then you will feel irresistible with or without makeup and styling. Pay special attention to the products you use.
I am glad that now natural, natural images dominate in shows and in everyday life. I love to play up my natural skin tone with bronzer on the forehead, on the nose and apply a little on the cheeks – where suntan usually appears fastest, and to complete the look with a peach lip gloss. The golden glow gives me a kind of divine feeling. And it’s a little easier than pinching your cheeks like my grandmother did for a natural blush.
First of all, clean and healthy skin starts with hydration. I like tools that solve several problems at once. I use Tata Harper Tinted Moisturizer and SPF to protect and refresh my skin, which is essential for private travel. I love facials and have been visiting Shani Darden for many years. When there is not enough time for visits, I use a brush for deep cleansing of the skin of my face.
Moisturizing and regular physical activity are the basis of any body care, otherwise the ideal appearance cannot be achieved. I alternate yoga, hip-hop dancing and running to keep my interest in my classes. I peel and moisturize with Braun Silk-Epil 9 and a self-produced lotion Honest Company Face & Body for soft and radiant skin.
For me, #breakfree means freedom from everything that prevents me from getting better and better. For example, from doubts about yourself and your abilities, depending on the opinions of other people. When I first started my career, it was not easy for me and my family: I had no connections in Hollywood, I was a simple suburban girl who dreamed of success. As you know, working in films is associated with private refusals, it does not matter if you are an aspiring actor or have been in this business for many years. And it all depends only on you, whether you can handle it and prove to others what you really are worth. Every time you have to deal with preconceived notions about yourself. Growing up, I have become always open to speak up when faced with injustice, especially against women. After all, it is so important to support each other, to help other women, including by our own example. Some people like it when women pay attention to each other’s shortcomings, while I, on the contrary, try to help them be fearless, be themselves and share their achievements with others. The Braun campaign is a positive step in that direction, and I am delighted to be with it.
I was very scared to decide to start my own business, The Honest Company. I had an idea that I believed in, and I needed to convince everyone around me, including my business partners and family, to believe in me. I kept thinking about what I don’t have – business education, for example. And I was very inspired by the example of Tory Burch, an incredible mom and businesswoman; she helped me understand that what I have achieved so far is enough to start my own business. And how successful he will be, I will know only if I move forward. I believe that every woman can find a role model that will motivate her to move forward.
Resourcefulness. Power. Intelligence. Confidence. Compassion. Sense of humor.
Be honest, not perfect. Remain yourself and earn respect, do not adjust to everyone and do not lose respect for yourself. Find something good in yourself every day. I hope that Braun’s #breakfree campaign will help women understand that when they stop restraining and restraining themselves, no one else can stop them.
I spend my free time with my family! There is nothing more beautiful than having breakfast with my daughters or watching some horrible TV show while lying in bed with my husband.
Practical and playful. Feminine and sophisticated. Modern classics with eclectic elements.
There are a couple of places I like to go on vacation. One is in the south of France, where my mother-in-law lives in a former monastery. It’s so free and naturally beautiful there, our girls can discover a lot of new things there, and no one controls them unnecessarily. And there you can eat and drink whatever you want: wine, bread, cheese – and at the same time you won’t gain a single kilogram. And the second place is Japan. It’s incredible in both provinces and cities. Everything and everyone there is filled with such dignity and charm, everything is incredibly thought out and beautiful. In my next life, I would like to be a harayuku girl – they look amazing!
Preparation is the key to success, especially when you have kids! I am an amazing organizer and packer, I have luggage stickers for everything, including every detail of my wardrobe. The regimen is also very important: for my girls – they should always eat and go to bed on time, for me – including in personal care, pack all my cosmetics and Honest body care products, and always remember about hydration.
I would choose a photo of my children, moisturizers with SPF (well, yes, it’s hot in there) and a Swiss army knife (I’m as practical as he is).
