“Hospital loneliness is terrible and terribly paralyzing the sick,” said Jerzy Stuhr, guest of the program, on Onet Rano. “When I come to Unicorn (an association for psycho-oncological care – editor’s note) and meet the patients staying there, this fear seems to disappear, an active, joyful community is created – he said, emphasizing the importance of support in this difficult time.
Emotions have a huge impact on our health, especially when we have to fight for them. In this difficult time, the ability to deal with difficult emotions – despair, loneliness, fear – helps in the healing process. Therefore, psycho-oncological support is a very important element in cancer therapy of patients. – The feeling that they are among themselves, that someone helps them – this is a completely different kind of being with this disease, especially in the early stages – Jerzy Stuhr said in Onet Rano.

The Unicorn Association, which has been helping cancer patients and their relatives in psychophysical rehabilitation for 20 years, runs the first stationary Center for Psycho-oncology Unicorn in Poland. The founding members of the Association and the Ambassadors of the Psychooncology Center are Barbara and Jerzy Stuhr.
On November 26, the 5th Psychooncology Forum organized by the association will be held (online). Its purpose is to exchange experiences and create an opportunity to meet patients, their relatives, medical staff of various specialties, students, as well as institutions, organizations and companies that practically and actively help people affected by the problem of cancer. Traditionally, the Forum will be opened by Barbara and Jerzy Stuhr.
