Jean-Jack

The name reflects the desire of manufacturers to emphasize the French style of the drink. And although only local cognac spirits are used in the blend, the manufacturing technique is borrowed from the French, and grape seedlings were purchased in the Champagne region and grown in the Crimea. Initially, the “Jean-Jacques” lines were age and “star” – the number of stars corresponded to the aging time of alcohols. But since 2012, only the international designation has remained on the label: VS (Very Special), VSOP (Very Superior Old Pale) and XO (Extra Old).

Historical reference. Jean-Jacques is a young cognac of the 1962st century. But its history began in 1970, when a wine and cognac factory was built in the Crimean village of Bagerovo, around which grape seedlings ordered in France from the Champagne region were planted. The first cognac spirits from this grape aged in oak barrels were obtained in 1987, and in XNUMX special multi-level cellars were built for them, in which temperature and humidity are regulated.

But they began to work on creating their own brand at the plant only in 2003, when the company was rented by the Alef-Vinal company formed in 1999. This was already the fifth enterprise, before that its owner Vadim Ermolaev built a plant to create author’s wines from Crimean grapes, now wines of the Golden Amphora trademark are produced here. Then he rented a wine processing complex in Bakhchisarai with a subsequent purchase, along with five hundred hectares of vineyards. And then, in 2002, he bought the Starokrymsky plant and 750 hectares of vineyards. In 2003, Mr. Ermolaev bought the Burlyuk plant in Bakhchisarai with XNUMX hectares of vineyards.

The Bagherov factory of vintage cognacs has become the last point in the list of the company’s possessions. In a few months, the enterprise was reconstructed, equipped with modern equipment for all stages of cognac production, and the best specialists were involved, who began work on the brand. “Jean-Jacques” appeared in 2007.

Interesting fact

The label of “Jean-Jacques” has a special seal – to confirm the quality of spirits and familiarize consumers with the composition of the blend. The age of cognac spirits is indicated in the center of the seal, so everyone can calculate which grape harvest of which year was used in production. The print elements are embossed, so they can also serve as protection against fakes.
