Jasmine climbing rose: description of the rose
“Rose of Jasmine” is grown for vertical gardening. It can become part of a gazebo or balcony, arch or column. It can be used to decorate the facade of a building: it will easily take root on its wall.
“Rosa Jasmina” – braided plant
In large volumes, this plant is convenient to grow in southern regions with warm winters. In the middle lane, it is most often used as a decorative element of a garden or yard. It must be grown so that it is possible to cover it for the winter.
All climbing roses are divided into two groups:
- Rambler. These are climbing plants. Their shoots up to 5 m long spread or rise in arcs. Their entire surface is studded with thin thorns. The flowers are terry, small, their diameter does not exceed 2,5 cm.
- Climber. These are modern hybrid varieties that are considered climbing roses. Their flowering is more abundant, and the flowers are larger – with a diameter of 4 cm. Some representatives are capable of re-flowering in one season. They are quite cold-resistant and resistant to the disease – powdery mildew.
The second group includes “Rose of Jasmine”.
It was bred in Germany in 2005. It can be distinguished from other varieties by the following characteristic features:
- This highly branched bush produces abundant flowering. On one brush, 10 or even 15 flowers are formed.
- They are very fragrant, with a sweet smell, reminiscent of the aromas of apple and vanilla.
- Their shape is cupped, painted pink.
- Shoots grow up to 1,8 m in length.
- The leaves are smooth and shiny, of medium size, densely covering the stem.
Before you become the owner of this beauty on your site, remember the rules of planting and care:
- The place for the rose should be bright and sunny. But constant exposure to direct sunlight can lead to burns. Try to keep the plant in the sun only until noon.
- The shrub does not like strong winds and drafts. It is better if his habitat is between buildings. The corners of the building are not an option for them.
- Harmful to the rose and too wet soil. It will not grow in swampy areas. Its roots go 2 m deep into the soil, so you need to protect it from groundwater. Best planted on slopes.
The optimal time for planting is late September – early October. Before the onset of frost, the seedlings will have time to take root and get used to the new place. In the spring, the active development of the bush will begin, the growth of shoots and preparation for flowering.
