Janina Bąk: Child suicides are a topic that is very dear to me

– It’s completely normal to be sick, feel bad, go to a psychiatrist, ask for help – explained Janina Bąk, statistician and university teacher, known mainly from the popular blog JaninaDaily.com, who was Beata Tadla’s guest in the “Onet Rano” program.

The conversation was a reference to a loud interview that Janina Bąk gave to “Wysokie Obcasy” a few days ago. In an interview, she revealed that she suffers from bipolar disorder and has been using psychiatric care for over a dozen years.

– It is extremely important to react when we see that something bad is happening to us or to our loved ones. Now, in a pandemic, we have a large mental health crisis due to the fact that we have been locked at home for over a year, she explained. – That’s probably why I wanted to do this interview. I thought it was high time to normalize this topic, tame it.

In the conversation Beata Tadla referred to the state of child psychiatry, which Janusz Schwertner devoted a lot of attention to in the report entitled “Miłość w Czas zapazy” and in the book “Scars”

– Suicides of children is a topic that is very close to me – said Janina Bąk. – Few people know that in Poland more people die as a result of suicide death than in car accidents – she explained in “Onet Rano.”
