Italian pizza toppings: recipe with video
Pizza has long been one of the most popular dishes in the world. It is quite simple to prepare – having mastered the basic dough recipe, you can come up with a wide variety of fillings or use classic recipes from different regions of Italy.
Pizza filling with three cheeses and meat balls
You will need: – pizza dough; – 9 large tomatoes; – 3 cloves of garlic; – a bunch of basil; – 200 g of young goat cheese; – 100 g of Roquefort cheese; – 200 g of mozzarella; – 250 g of Gruyere or emmental cheese; – 200 g beef; – 1 small onion; – 1 tbsp. sugar; – olive oil; – salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Roquefort cheese has a rather specific smell and taste. If you don’t like blue cheese, exclude it from the recipe.
Start your filling with tomato sauce, which will form the base of your pizza. Dip the tomatoes in boiling water, remove the skin from them, cut the pulp coarsely enough. Peel and chop the garlic, wash and chop the basil. Pour 6 tablespoons into the bottom of the pot. olive oil, add tomatoes, garlic and basil there, salt and pepper, add sugar. Cover the saucepan and cook the sauce for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. If it turns out to be uneven, after cooking, pour the sauce into a blender and chop until puree.
Cut off the veins and excess fat from the beef, roll the meat through a meat grinder along with the peeled onion. Form the minced meat into small round meatballs. Heat some olive oil in a skillet and fry the meatballs in it for 7-10 minutes. Roll out the pizza dough, place in a baking dish. Pierce it with a fork in several places.
Brush the dough with tomato sauce. Cut the goat cheese, roquefort and mozzarella into slices and place on top of the sauce. Place the meatballs on top of the pizza. Grate the Gruyere cheese and sprinkle over the entire filling. Preheat the oven to 180 ° C and bake the pizza in it for half an hour until the dough is ready and the cheese melts.
You will need: – ready-made pizza dough; – 15-20 fresh mussels; – small squid; – 20 medium-sized shrimps; – 3-4 cloves of garlic; – 1 tbsp. oily sour cream; – dry oregano; – olive oil; – salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Boil the mussels in salted water for 5 minutes. Boil the squid and then cut into strips. Cook the shrimps for no more than 5 minutes, otherwise they will become tough. Peel them off the shell, separate the heads and tails. Peel and chop the garlic finely.
Heat the olive oil in a skillet and quickly fry the garlic and then the seafood in it. Roll out the pizza dough, cut a circle out of it to fit the baking dish. Brush the dough with sour cream and place the seafood mixture on top of it. Bake the pizza in a hot oven for half an hour.
You will need: – ready-made pizza dough; – 1 small zucchini; – 1 large tomato; – 100 g of fresh mushrooms; – 1 onion; – 150 g of goat cheese; – 160 g of mozzarella; – 100 g of tomato paste; – 1 tbsp. l. honey; – olive oil; – a few sprigs of cumin; – salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Eggplant can be added as an additional ingredient to vegetable pizza.
Peel and dice the zucchini. Dip the tomato in boiling water, remove the skin from it and chop it. Peel and chop the onion very finely. Rinse the mushrooms, separate the legs from the caps, cut the large caps into quarters. Heat the olive oil in a skillet and then fry the mushrooms, onions, and other vegetables. Season with salt and pepper, add honey.
Roll out the pizza dough and place in a greased form. Top with a few drops of olive oil and brush with tomato paste. Then lay out the vegetables with mushrooms. Cut both types of cheese into thin slices and cover the top of the pizza with them. Add the caraway sprigs. Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for half an hour.
