The breakup of a relationship with a loved one, it would seem, is always traumatic … Monmouth University psychologists studied the life stories of 155 students who experienced the breakup of close relationships, and found that many young people perceive separation from a partner positively.
They feel freedom and lightness, they notice that they have begun to develop internally again. We are talking about a break in relations that fettered one of the partners, hindered the development of his personality. And although we need close relationships in order to feel satisfied with life, sometimes they turn into their opposite — and then the shortest path to finding happiness lies through liberation from them.
