Beauty year after year
Makeup with makeup, but what about healthy food, exercise, braces and much more, which is the time to start thinking about now while you are still growing? I am ready to share my knowledge and tell you when to add some new aspects to your daily beauty routine. But these are just general rules: we are all different, so consider your rhythms and interests.
Healthy eating
When to start: right now. It’s never too early to start eating right, and I never tire of repeating that. Fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grain breads, dairy products and lean protein are the staples of the diet for those looking to be beautiful. This way you get energized, your skin looks better, your hair gets shine and strength, and your nails, teeth and bones get stronger. It may not be up to you to decide what groceries to buy home or what to eat at school, but you still have a choice. Avoid soda by replacing it with water. Join your parents’ shopping trips from time to time. Read labels, be interested in what ingredients enter your body.
Why now: there is no reason to put it off until tomorrow. After all, this is not a diet, but a healthy nutritious diet. You are still growing, you need all the nutrients. If you are overweight, see your doctor or dietitian – they will develop a safe weight loss program for you. All other diet options are excluded. And enjoy your favorite foods and desserts – fries, pizza, chocolate – but be moderate. Make healthy eating the norm.
Physical exercises
When to start… I am a fan of exercise and I think you should do something every day to improve blood circulation. Remember, the more you move, the more energy you have.
Why now… You don’t have to sign up for a gym or spend a lot of money on sports equipment to train. The simplest exercises are amazingly good for the body. For example, a jump rope – it is used every day in training by the greatest athletes in the world. If jumping is too difficult and tiring for you, take a brisk walk. As soon as you feel that your heart is beating faster or your breathing becomes a little uneven, you have achieved your goal.
Deodorant
When to start: when it becomes necessary. Each of us has a different body function. You may only sweat in hot weather or during sports. But persistent sweating is normal, and if you sweat all the time, use deodorant every day.
Why now: so as not to cause discomfort to yourself and others. The best place to start is with baby powder. And when you’re ready, buy the one that’s right for you. I prefer natural deodorants that can be found in eco-cosmetics stores – they don’t have as much chemistry as there are in the mass-market brands. It is better to choose a deodorant: unlike an antiperspirant, it neutralizes the smell, rather than blocking perspiration. If you sweat profusely, switch to a reinforced deodorant.
Sunscreen
When to start: Doctors advise mothers to start protecting baby’s skin from the sun at six months. Now you’re an adult (well, almost) and you can protect yourself. So don’t forget to take the high protection cream to the beach and apply a light SPF moisturizer to your face every day before leaving the house.
Why now: The sooner you start protecting your skin from sun damage, the better it will look as you get older. And it is also the prevention of skin cancer, the development of which can provoke sunburn or excessive insolation.
Makeup
When to start. If by the age of twelve you are already impatient to take on makeup, I think you can start to tint. A little. Mascara and light lip gloss. Something more, like blush and glitter eyeshadow, is only for discos and parties. And put off the delicious smoky until you grow up.
Why now: I think nine is too early for makeup. But 12 is just that. Learn to love your face and enjoy how amazing your skin is! Think more about friends and entertainment – including lipstick, nail polish, and blush to wear with your friends in the comfort of your home.
Epilation
When to start: it depends more on hair type than age. Some girls have thick and coarse hair on their legs and armpits before puberty, and some do not grow at all. The easiest and least painful solution is shaving, but there are many other ways.
Why now: because the time has come. But if you have light, almost invisible hair, I would advise you to wait with epilation and shaving. Once you start doing this, the procedure will become as regular and mandatory as showering and brushing your teeth: your hair will begin to grow faster and you simply will not have a choice.
Hair coloring
When to start… I don’t really like it when girls start dyeing their hair even before adolescence. The desire to change their color is as much a given as the sunrise or the question of parents: “Have you done your homework?” When it comes to hair, for some reason we always need what we don’t have. If you want to experiment with color, use a product that is easy to rinse off. If you don’t like it, you’ll be glad that you don’t have to walk in this form for a long time.
Why now: the case when you can wait. But if the urge to experiment doesn’t go away, give in to it.
Just remember: if you are a brunette, you will not become a blonde. You will only ruin your hair. You can, of course, turn to professionals, but it costs a lot of money: making and maintaining a platinum blond is the most expensive pleasure. Better to spend a little time and effort to look great with what is given by nature.
Braces
When to start… Most children start wearing braces between the ages of 10 and 14, when all the molars appear. Nowadays, there are many systems (including invisible, removable, etc.) that allow you to correct the bite and make your teeth straight. If you think you are ready for braces, ask your parents to take you to an orthodontist who will walk you through the options.
Why now… Braces can be worn at any age, but the sooner the better. Just remember that this is an expensive system that requires responsibility and discipline. (You will have to give up some of your habits, find new ones, and follow your doctor’s instructions until your teeth fit in. But it’s worth it, I promise!) So don’t wear braces unless you’re ready to take them seriously. If your lips tend to dry out (this often happens), use a light lip gloss.
Instant makeup
You have a busy life: school, friends, parents, sports and everything else. This means that there is not so much time left for makeup. And yet you want to be beautiful. Somewhere between jumping out of bed, having breakfast on the go, and jogging to the bus stop, leave yourself five minutes for base makeup
STEP 1. Mask problem areas
Mask the inflammation with a foundation or stick. If necessary, apply concealer under the eyes.
STEP 2. Even out skin tone
Apply a thin layer of SPF foundation moisturizer all over your face. It evens out skin tone and provides the necessary sun protection.
STEP H: Add color
Apply liquid blush to the “apples” of your cheeks (for this you need to smile). Rub the blush up and down with your fingers.
STEP 4. Add shine
Apply a sheer gloss to your lips. If they dry, use a tinted balm.
STEP 5. Accentuate the eyes (if necessary)
Apply brown or black mascara to lashes in one layer. If you have dark hair and naturally thick eyelashes, you can skip this step. Mascara is applied to both upper and lower eyelashes. If you paint them in two coats, pause to let the first coat dry. I know some people also use eyeliner at this stage.
