Teachers in Israel. What is a green certificate and what will the risk of not having one?
The necessary certificate, called a green certificate in Israel, is a document that proves that a person has been vaccinated against COVID-19, has recovered or has a current negative test for coronavirus.
The lack of a green certificate will be considered the cause of unexcused absence from work and will not allow distance learning. Therefore, teachers will not receive fees for periods of such absenteeism – announced the Ministry of Health in Israel.

A green certificate is required from teachers from September 2, that is, from the beginning of the school year. But so far, people who did not have one still received their salary, explains the Times of Israel.
Opposition to depriving teachers of earning opportunities through teleworking
The head of the Association of Secondary School Teachers, Ran Erez, said in a TV interview that while he was in favor of certification, he was against depriving teachers of earning money through teleworking.
Erez suggests that non-certified teachers should still be able to conduct certain activities remotely, such as individual lessons for quarantined students.
From September 1, all preschoolers and pupils are asked to submit a parental declaration to their schools that confirms that they have examined their children at home and that the results indicate that they are not infected. Children who have received a positive antigen test result are referred to an additional and more accurate PCR test for coronavirus.
