Ismigen – mechanism of action

Ismigen contains a lysate of bacteria that cause respiratory infections. The mechanism of action of this medicinal product is to increase the body’s resistance to microorganisms responsible for infections of the upper and lower respiratory tract.

Ismigen has a protective effect against recurrent respiratory infections. This effect has been documented in a reduced number of relapses, a shorter persistence of fever and less use of antibiotics. There was no depressive or stimulating effect on the cardiovascular or respiratory systems.

Ismigen – composition

Each Ismigen tablet contains 7 mg of bacterial lysate:

  1. Staphylococcus aureus 6 billion,
  2. Streptococcus pyogenes 6 billion,
  3. Streptococcus (viridans) oralis 6 billion,
  4. Klebsiella pneumoniae 6 billion,
  5. Klebsiella ozaenae 6 billion,
  6. Haemophilus influenzae 6 billion,
  7. Neisseria catarrhalis 6 billion,
  8. Streptococcus pneumoniae 6 billion (including type TY1 – 1 billion, type TY2 – 1 billion, type TY3 – 1 billion, type TY5 – 1 billion, type TY8 – 1 billion, type TY47 – 1 billion),
  9. 43 mg glicyny.

The auxiliary substances are:

  1. microcrystalline cellulose, calcium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate, colloidal hydrated silica,
  2. magnesium stearate, ammonium glycyrrhizinate, mint powder extract.

Ismigen – dosage

The dosage of Ismigen does not depend on the age of the person using the preparation. The tablet should be placed under the tongue and allowed to dissolve. The dosage of Ismigen is as follows:

Adults:

  1. one tablet a day before eating, dissolve under the tongue. Use for ten consecutive days a month, for a period of 3 months,

Children and adolescents (aged 3 years and over):

  1. one tablet a day before eating, dissolve under the tongue. Use for ten consecutive days a month, for a period of 3 months.

Ismigen – side effects

Side effects of authorized drugs are characterized as:

  1. very common,
  2. frequently occurring,
  3. uncommon,
  4. rare,
  5. very rare,
  6. frequency unknown.

Regarding the side effects of Ismigen, side effects of unknown frequency are cited. These are among others:

  1. sore throat, 
  2. allergic-type hypersensitivity reactions including hives, rash, itching and swelling
  3. fever,
  4. Headache, 
  5. vomiting,
  6. abdominal pain.

Ismigen – precautions

So far, no interactions of Ismigen with other medicinal products have been reported. If a woman is pregnant, thinks she may be pregnant, or is planning to have a baby, she should ask her doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicinal product..
