Can nausea come before my period? Can nausea mean pregnancy? What Causes Pre Period Nausea? Is the nausea the result of dietary mistakes? The question is answered by the drug. Katarzyna Darecka.

Could I feel sick before my period?

Hello and welcome. I am asking for quick help, because I am in a quite crisis moment in my life. I’m afraid I’m pregnant, which I’m completely unprepared for. Less than a month ago, I started having nausea before your period. Less than a month ago, I also had random sexual intercourse with a boy I met at a party. Nevertheless, I know he was on the safe side, and I don’t think he even ended up fully inside.

I feel embarrassed to write to you on this matter at all, but I have no one to turn to. I am 21 years old and still live with my parents. Whether nausea before menstruation can mean something other than pregnancy? I asked my mother, but she didn’t know how to answer it. Maybe there are reasons why I suffer from this nausea?

Maybe there is something wrong with my diet? I eat a lot of meat, mostly fried, and I don’t shy away from the fast food I eat every week, especially on weekends when I’m out and about partying. I also like alcohol, which I also drink every week (more on weekends, usually one or two beers in the evening on the TV during the week). Please help. Regards. K.

The doctor will explain if nausea before your period is normal

Pre-period nausea is common and doesn’t necessarily mean you’re pregnant. If there are any doubts and your monthly bleeding is late, it is worth doing a pregnancy test. Nausea can be part of the PMS (Premenstrual Syndrome) symptom complex, which affects 30 to 50% of women, with some sources as high as 75%! In addition to nausea, there may also be so-called mood swings, breast tenderness, craving for food, fatigue, irritability and depressed mood.

Symptoms may begin 11 to 7 days before menstruation, depending on the source, and disappear with the onset of menstruation. Cause of PMS is unknown, but among the possible causes are cyclical hormonal changes, changes in the concentrations of neurotransmitters. If the above-mentioned symptoms appear cyclically and are annoying, it is worth referring the problem to your gynecologist – pharmacological treatment of these symptoms is available.

From what you write, however, it can be deduced that you know enough unhealthy lifestyle. You should give up fried food and replace it with boiled or baked in the oven or in any other way that does not require adding large amounts of fat to dishes, and completely give up eating fast food. Alcohol consumption is not a problem when used in moderation, i.e. for women with the occasional consumption of no more than 4 servings of alcohol.

Drinking alcohol every day is not recommended, it is worth having at least two days of complete abstinence during the week, and no more than 2 drinks on the other days. A portion of alcohol contains 10 g of pure alcohol, i.e. 250 ml of 5% beer, 100 ml of 12% wine or 30 ml of 40% vodka. This means that it is allowed to drink 1 beer to TV singing, but not more, and during the week you should make allowances for at least two days in which you do not drink alcohol at all. However, during weekend events not more than two half-liter beers.

I urge you to rethink your eating habits and after changing them, if you still suffer from nausea and pregnancy is excluded, go to your GP for advice.
