Is it possible to wash a synthetic winterizer blanket in a washing machine

In order not to spoil the synthetic winterizer blanket, it is important to figure out whether it can be washed in a washing machine and how to do it correctly. You will find exhaustive information on washing below.

Properties and characteristics of synthetic winterizer

Synthetic filler is an unpretentious material, so it will survive soaking in cold water. Do not dip in too hot water.

The synthetic winterizer is demanding and does not tolerate active manipulations, aggressive detergents. If you provide a blanket made of synthetic winterizer with gentle washing – by hand or in a typewriter, it will not lose its properties.

The only problem that awaits the user is the discrepancy between the volume of the blanket and the capacity of the drum.

Even if the weight of the product is only 2 kg, and the machine is designed for 5-6 kg of dry laundry, you can’t thoughtlessly start washing. When the product gets wet, its weight increases many times, and this is already a load on the movable parts of the AGR. If you see that it hardly fits into the drum, refuse machine washing – its quality will leave much to be desired, and the risks for equipment will be great.

If the machine holds 7-9 kg, you can wash the blanket. Limit the drum speed to 200-300 so that the most important parts do not wear out ahead of time.

Important! The same rules are relevant for capacious machines for 12-15 kg of laundry.

Rule: when washing, do not use the spin and dry options so as not to spoil the padding “filling”.

How to wash a blanket from a synthetic winterizer in the machine

Before washing in an automatic machine, read the instructions so that the process is successful:

  • Prepare the SMA itself – remove the powder cuvette. Clean and rinse the intake from traces of powder.
  • Pour professional shampoo for washing products with synthetic filler into the receiver – according to the dosage indicated on the bottle.
  • Inspect the thing for tears: sew up holes and damage so that the filler does not fall into the drum. From it, it can enter the tank and drain system. In the best case, you will have to clean the filter, in the worst case, disassemble the case and inspect the pump, hose and pipe at the time of blockage.
  • Lay the product in the drum, rolling it into a roll.
  • Close the hatch and choose on which mode you will wash. Some machines, such as LG, have a “Duvet” program. If this is not available, choose the cycles “Voluminous things”, “Hand” or “Delicate wash”. The main requirements for the regime: the water temperature is not higher than 40 degrees and the slow speed of the drum.
  • Turn off spin and dry.
  • Run the double rinse option, if available. If this function is not available, rinse the blanket again at the end of the program.
  • After washing, leave the product in the drum for 1 hour so that the water is glass.

Important! Do not close the hatch, otherwise there will be an unpleasant smell.

Handwash

If automatic washing for one reason or another does not suit you, wash the blanket with your own hands. But be prepared for the fact that a lot of water will go away and help will be needed. Proceed like this:

  • Fill the bath a quarter with cool water – no higher than 40 degrees.
  • Dissolve the agent.
  • Sew up holes, if any.
  • Lay the blanket in the bath, wait until it is completely wet and “drown” in the water.
  • Distribute the product along the bottom.
  • Get into the bath with bare feet and gently trample on the blanket for about half an hour.
  • Drain the water and fill with new water.
  • Spend 2-3 rinses.
  • Flush the water and leave the blanket at the bottom of the tub with the drain hole open – excess water will drain into it.
  • After an hour, take it out (this is where strength is needed) and carry it to dry.

How to dry

To the great delight of fans of artificial fillers, synthetic winterizers dry easier than down ones. The synthetic winterizer does not clump too much. But you will have to follow some rules:

  • Before drying the blanket, prepare a place to lay it out horizontally. A dryer or a powerful ironing board will do. You can dry in the shade in the fresh air, then it will take about 5 hours to dry.
  • Do not use radiators or space heaters. But you can install a fan heater a few meters away.
  • Shake the wet thing every hour and turn over to distribute the filler.

We conclude: machine wash is quite possible if the drum allows. Hand washing is no problem either. In any case, following the rules, you will get a clean, fresh and soft blanket.
