Many experienced mushroom pickers claim that butter mushrooms can be frozen raw, because then they do not lose their properties and taste after defrosting. Moreover, this method is the most convenient, affordable and simple. It allows you to cook delicious dishes with the aroma of real fresh mushrooms in the cold snowy winter.

Is it possible to freeze butternuts raw or should they undergo additional heat treatment – it does not matter. After the defrosting process, the butternuts have the same aroma as freshly picked ones. In this case, the mandatory process is the primary processing of oil. First you need to remove the slippery sticky film from their hats, rinse in running water and drain in a colander. When all the liquid has drained, the butter should be laid out on a paper towel to dry.

If the mushrooms are small, you should not cut such beauty, let them remain intact. However, if large mushrooms are taken for freezing, then they need to be cut. A mandatory rule is to sort butter by size. Put butternuts of the same size in food plastic containers with a lid and place in the freezer. The lid on the containers is required, as the mushrooms will quickly absorb all the smells of nearby foods.
