Doctors warn mothers that it is impossible to abuse milk because of the danger of allergies in the baby. It occurs due to the inability of the infant’s digestive system to absorb foreign protein. However, the advantages are also significant – getting natural vitamins from this natural product.
Therefore, before choosing between “yes” and “no”, find out if there is any allergy to milk from the next of kin, which the baby could have inherited. If an allergic reaction occurs, stop using the product to make sure that the allergy is caused by it. Nevertheless, it is irrational to completely exclude milk from the mommies’ menu, since this really contributes to lactation and the improvement of the vitamin composition of the baby’s food.
Here are the rules that will help you notice deviations in the baby’s health in time:
- The initial portion should not exceed 1 cup. If for several days there are no noticeable external or changes in the stool, then you can drink another glass. Increase the quantity gradually.
- Add milk to drinks – tea, cocoa, weak coffee.
- Add small portions to cereals, omelets and other foods.
All this will reduce the allergenicity of the product. But the condition of the child must be constantly monitored and, upon seeing the first signs of allergy, stop drinking milk.
What kind of milk to drink: homemade, boiled, cow’s
The fresher the product, the better. Long-term storage milk is not recommended. Better from under the “familiar” cow, fresh and boiled milk which will serve as a source:
- natural calcium;
- vitamins and minerals;
- proteins that are necessary, like air, to a growing body;
- pacifying and lulling effect on mom and baby.
It would seem that the benefits of this product are obvious. But scientists continue to argue about this and urge to be careful with such manifestations in a baby:
- redness or flaking of the skin;
- constipation, diarrhea, vomiting, frequent regurgitation, colic;
- shortness of breath, cough.
Milk should be immediately excluded, consult a doctor and look at the further reaction of the baby.
Alternative to cow’s milk for breastfeeding
Goat milk, which has a lower percentage of lactose, is less allergenic. It is better absorbed due to the higher concentration of fats. Alternatively, you can try baked milk, which tastes good.
Whichever option you choose, do not forget to introduce a new product carefully, carefully monitoring the well-being of the child.
