Often, when breastfeeding, women refuse many products, as they are afraid of the manifestation of allergies in the baby. Beets are one of the foods that moms avoid.

Why is it good to eat boiled red beets?

Beets are a healthy vegetable. It contains a number of nutrients that are not destroyed by heat treatment.

Breastfeeding mothers can eat boiled beets in small quantities.

Its main positive properties:

  • improves bowel function due to pectin and fiber;
  • prevents anemia due to its high iron content;
  • strengthens the body due to calcium and betaine;
  • normalizes the thyroid gland due to iodine;
  • supports the work of the heart and circulatory system due to vitamins PP and C.

Besides the fact that beets have a positive effect on human health, they are also useful for beauty. A large amount of antioxidants and B vitamins has an anti-aging effect.

Is it possible for a nursing mother to eat beets 

Start introducing beets into your diet 1-2 months after giving birth. Before this period, it provokes colic in the child.

Use only boiled root vegetable. It gently cleanses the body, relieves constipation. At the same time, the baby’s stool is also normalized.

Eat small amounts of beets. Consume 1 tbsp. l. product and observe the baby for the next 2 days. If you notice red rashes, pimples or redness, then stop eating beets in the coming months.

Beetroot dishes for breastfeeding

Do not consume raw beets and their juice. Boil the vegetable or bake it in the oven. In this case, all vitamins and fiber will not be destroyed. Use beets to make salads, vegetable stews, and soups. Use vegetable oil as a dressing.

Beetroot caviar cooks very quickly:

  • beets – 1 pc.;
  • olive oil – 1 st. l .;
  • lemon juice – 0,5 tsp;
  • salt;
  • sugar.

Add sugar and salt to taste.

Boil the beets until tender. Rub it on a fine grater. Drizzle with lemon juice, sprinkle with sugar and salt. Mix well. Simmer the dish over low heat for 20 minutes.

Prepare yourself a beetroot for lunch. For this you will need:

  • beets – 1 piece;
  • lean beef – 350 g;
  • potatoes – 3 pcs .;
  • olive oil – 1 st. l .;
  • salt;
  • sugar;
  • parsley.

For dressing the beetroot, you can use low-fat sour cream.

Boil the beets and cut them into small pieces. Make the broth beforehand. Cut the potatoes into strips and place in the broth. Season with salt and butter. When the potatoes are almost ready, add the beets. Garnish the dish with chopped herbs.

Eat beets in dosage quantities, and they will only benefit you and your baby.
