Frequent bowel movements may be a symptom of what diseases?
I have a question about passing stools frequently. I’ve never had a problem like this before, and I’m 42 years old. I have always passed stools regularly, once a day, except for obvious factors (such as bowel disease or food poisoning when I was passing stools more often). I haven’t changed anything in my diet in the last year, and yet I have had delicate ones for three months problems with bowel movements. Recently, I have to pass a stool at least three times a day. Frequent bowel movements occurred successively – it had started twice, but that still seemed normal.
Now, however, frequent stools has become much more problematic, as sometimes I feel the need to pass four or five times. The stools are normal anyway, not diarrhea or anything like that. Is frequent bowel movement a symptom of an illness? I do not feel any other problems from the digestive system. Apart from frequent bowel movements, I do not have flatulence, gas or stomach pain. What could be the reason why you pass stools frequently? Is such frequent bowel movements a reason to see a doctor or is it still within some normal limits? Anyway, I would like to know a way to solve this problem, because such frequent stools make my life a bit difficult and I would rather go back to the normal mode from a few months ago. Regards

The frequency of bowel movements it varies from person to person and there is no universal “correct” number of bowel movements a day. Usually, if there are no other symptoms, and the bowel movements are of the correct consistency and color (the stools are not black or bloody), it is considered a variant of the norm and may result, for example, from changing the diet to products with higher fiber content and drinking more water. Also, introducing more physical activity into your life can speed up your digestive processes. Unfortunately, too much coffee can have a similar effect, as can stress. The cause of more frequent bowel movements may also be a mild, self-limiting gastrointestinal disease that will end itself with the help of our immune system.
Such a symptom, however (very rarely occurs alone, without other gastrointestinal and systemic symptoms!) May contribute to the picture of diseases such as: Celiac disease, Crohn’s disease, hyperthyroidism, irritable bowel syndrome, ulcerative colitis or after simply as a side effect of other drugs.
It’s a good idea to inform your GP about your concern about frequent bowel movements – perhaps during an interview or physical examination, he or she will be able to pick up some pathology that is difficult for you to spot yourself and refer you to the necessary tests. If there is a change in the consistency, volume or appearance of the stool, e.g. narrow stools, loose, watery, abdominal pain and the appearance of blood, mucus or pus in the stools, see your GP as soon as possible and do not delay the visit.
It should be remembered that screening colonoscopy, without referral, is recommended for all citizens between the ages of 50 and 65. regardless of family history, at the age of 40-49, if a first-degree relative diagnosed with colorectal cancer, and at the age of 25-49 from a family with Lynch syndrome or 20-49 years from a family with familial adenomatous polyposis syndrome.
