Good morning, I have been struggling with constipation for some time and cannot defecate. I know that lack of regular bowel movements can be associated with many problems, so I would prefer to avoid them and help the body by getting rid of constipation. A friend mentioned something about linseed. I never really liked him. I don’t like the flaxseed taste or smell, but if it would help. But I wonder if flaxseed for constipation is that a good way?
Will linseed aid defecation at all? Or maybe what else would help me get over constipation? I don’t know anymore and I’m a bit worried, because my defecation is not regular, and when I do, I have had a lot of problem with it for some time. Perhaps I am on an inappropriate diet? Ladies and Gentlemen, it is worth consuming flaxseed during constipation. It contains large amounts of fiber that is stimulating intestinal peristalsis facilitates defecation. I wish you had given more information about yourself. Constipation is especially persistent in the elderly, due to the significant slowing of the digestive tract, medications or an incorrect diet. Eating a lot of meat and a small amount of vegetables, especially those high in fiber, is conducive to constipation.
In the case of enhancing drugs the risk of developing constipation, in particular, antidepressants, anticonvulsants, analgesics, antihypertensives and iron preparations should be taken into account. It is worth starting the treatment of this troublesome ailment with natural, home methods. As I mentioned, you should eat high-fiber foods, including linseed, drink the right amount of fluids (at least 2 liters a day) and remember to exercise periodically. It does not have to be a competitive sport, the most important thing is to exercise regularly.
However, if home remedies do not help, I suggest that you visit your GP. Most likely, your doctor will prescribe medications that stimulate bowel movements or soften the stools. If there is no improvement, you should have a hormonal test for hypothyroidism. In addition, it would be good to perform a colonoscopy to, among other things, exclude diverticular disease or cancer.
