Irgi tincture: 4 recipes at home

Irga – has an extraordinary amount of useful and healing substances. They are great for fighting many diseases.

They also cook from shadberry: wine, liqueurs, liquors

Tips before starting

  1. Harvesting is best when it is fully ripe. The most ripe and juicy berry always falls to the ground, and it is perfect not only for alcoholic but also non-alcoholic drinks.

  2. Before cooking, be sure to remove all spoiled berries.

  3. It will be better to give irgi juice if it lies down for 5–7 days at room temperature (we spread it in one layer on a paper or wooden base).

Quick tincture of shadberry without sugar

To prepare this recipe, you will need no more than four days. And you can determine the amount of ingredients yourself.

Recipe with fresh berries:

Ingredients

  1. Irga

  2. Vodka

Method of preparation

  1. Irgi berries must be thoroughly washed, spoiled berries removed and dried a little.

  2. We fill the glass container 3/4 with the prepared berry and fill it to the end of the container with an alcohol base. Let it brew for 2 days in a dark place.

  3. After 2 days, we filter the tincture, discard the berries and put the fresh berries into a glass container again (as well as for the first time by 3/4) and pour the strained tincture. We let it brew for 2 more days.

  4. After the specified time, we filter the tincture and filter through a purchased or home-made filter. Pour into glass bottles.

  5. Store the finished tincture of irgi in a dark place.

Dried Berry Recipe:

Ingredients

  1. Dried irga – 1 kg

  2. Vodka – 0,5 l

Method of preparation

  1. Dried berries of irgi must be ground in a coffee grinder or in another way convenient for you.

  2. Transfer part of the crushed berries to a glass container and let it brew for 2 days.

  3. After 2 days, strain the tincture, add the second half of the crushed berries to a glass container and pour over the strained infusion. We let it brew for 2 more days.

  4. After the specified time, we filter the tincture and filter through a home-made or purchased filter. Pour into glass bottles, and store the finished drink for no more than 6 months in a cool place.

Spicy tincture of shadberry with honey

To prepare the tincture according to this recipe, you can use any berry (fresh, frozen or dried).

As an alcohol base, you can use vodka, alcohol or cognac.

Dried wild rose can be replaced with 150 g of chokeberry.

Ingredients

  1. Irga – 1,5 kg

  2. Vodka – 1 l

  3. Honey – 3 Art. l

  4. Dry rosehip – 10 pcs.

Method of preparation

  1. Irga must be thoroughly washed, spoiled berries removed and smashed in a blender to a puree state (you can twist it in a meat grinder).

  2. We shift the prepared berries into a glass container, add the wild rose and fill it with an alcohol base. Mix well and let it brew for 12 days in a dark place. Shake the contents of the container well every 2-3 days.

  3. After the specified time, the tincture from the irgi must be filtered through a sieve and filtered through a home-made or purchased filter. Pour the tincture into glass bottles.

  4. Before tasting, let it brew for 2-3 days.

  5. Store the finished drink in a cool place for no more than 3 years.

Tincture of shadberry with currant on cognac

To prepare the tincture according to this recipe, it is better to take inexpensive cognac.

Ingredients

  1. Irga – 1,5 kg

  2. Black currant – 300 g

  3. Cognac – 1 l

  4. Honey – 2 Art. l

Method of preparation

  1. Irgi and blackcurrant berries must be thoroughly washed, spoiled berries removed and smashed with a blender.

  2. We shift the prepared berries into a glass container, add honey and fill everything with cognac. Let it brew for 2 weeks in a dark place. Do not forget to shake the tincture every 2-3 days.

  3. After the specified time, we filter the drink through a sieve and filter through a homemade or purchased filter.

  4. Pour into glass bottles. Store the finished product in a cool place for no more than 3 years.

Irgi flower tincture

For this recipe, only the Canadian variety must be used and the flowers must be picked in the spring and dried well.

This tincture can be used for medicinal purposes.

Ingredients

  1. Dry flowers of irgi – 30 g

  2. Alcohol (40%) – 300 ml

Method of preparation

  1. Dried flowers must be crushed in a mortar.

  2. We shift the prepared flowers into a glass container and fill it with an alcohol base. We let it brew in a dark place for 14 days.

  3. After 2 weeks, the finished tincture must be filtered through a filter. Pour into a glass bottle and store at room temperature.
