Irgi liquor: 3 recipes at home

Irga is a very tasty and extremely healthy berry of dark blue color, which in its properties is not inferior to currant, dogwood, chokeberry, etc.

They also cook from shadberry: wine, tinctures, liquors

Tips before starting

  1. The berry must be harvested when it is fully ripe. As soon as the fruits of the shadberry begin to fall to the ground, this is a signal that the time has come for the harvest.

  2. Irgi berries should not be spoiled or rotten.

  3. To squeeze the juice from the shadberry, before that, you need to let it lie down for 5-7 days at room temperature, laying the berry in one layer.

Classic liquor from shadberry

Ingredients

  1. Irga – 500 g

  2. Vodka – 500 ml

  3. Granulated sugar – 250 g

Method of preparation

  1. Irgu must be thoroughly washed and kneaded a little berry.

  2. We shift the prepared berries into a glass container, add sugar, vodka and mix well. Let it brew for 60 days in a dark place at room temperature.

  3. After 2 months, the liquor must be filtered through a homemade or purchased filter. Pour into glass bottles.

  4. Store the finished product in a cool place.

Honey liquor from shadberry

Ingredients

  1. Irga – 500 g

  2. Vodka – 500 ml

  3. Honey – 200 g

  4. Water – 100 ml

  5. Cherry leaves – 25 pcs.

Method of preparation

  1. Irgu must be thoroughly washed and kneaded each berry with your hands or with a rolling pin.

  2. We shift the prepared berries into a glass container, add cherry leaves and pour the alcohol base. Let it brew for 12 days in a dark place at room temperature. Do not forget to shake the contents of the container daily.

  3. After 12 days, we filter the game tincture through a sieve, and squeeze the cake well, then filter it through a purchased or home-made filter.

  4. We mix water and honey and heat to 40 degrees and stir until the honey is completely dissolved.

  5. After the honey syrup has completely cooled, add it to the filtered tincture and mix thoroughly. Pour into glass bottles.

  6. Wait 2 weeks before tasting.

  7. If a precipitate appears after aging, then the liquor must be filtered again.

  8. Store the finished liquor in a cool place for no more than 3 years.

Irgi liqueur on cognac

Ingredients

  1. Irga – 900 g

  2. Cognac – 1 l

  3. Granulated sugar – 800 g

  4. Water – 100 ml

Method of preparation

  1. Irgu must be thoroughly washed and dried with paper towels.

  2. Spread the prepared berry in one layer on a newspaper and let it lie down for 5-7 days. This will help squeeze the maximum amount of juice out of the berries, since freshly picked berries do not give juice well.

  3. As soon as the berry begins to give juice, it must be thoroughly kneaded and the released juice is drained to prepare the syrup.

  4. Mix juice with water, add sugar and cook syrup.

  5. As soon as the syrup has cooled, pour it into crushed berries, mix thoroughly and let it brew for 18-20 hours.

  6. After this time, add cognac and insist 2-3 weeks.

  7. We filter the finished liquor from the shadberry through a filter and pour it into glass bottles.

  8. Store in a cool place.
