Recently, the concept detox occurs more and more often, and in various phrases: detox diet, detox program, detox tour. What does this mean? Detox is the cleansing of the body of toxins and toxins, and the diet, program and tour are activities aimed at cleansing your body.
Many people liked the idea of detox tours, as you can combine business with pleasure, for example, do good to your body and see some wonderful country – Thailand, India and others. But there are those who believe that no artificial cleansing is required for the body: the most important thing is not to “clog” it with an unhealthy lifestyle.
Unfortunately, each of us – whether we choose a healthy lifestyle or not – is exposed to toxic factors that cannot always be controlled. Therefore, it is very important to help the body’s natural detoxification process on a daily basis. And a short-term intensive cleansing program at the detox center can be a good addition for those who can afford it.
In early 2014, a detox studio Green.me was opened on Novorizhskoe highway near Moscow. The other day I met the owner and author of the Green.me program, Tatiana Skirda, and this is what she told me.
Live-up!: There is a lot of information that detox is an artificially organized cleansing process, but in fact, the body cleans itself every minute, and does not need much help. The main thing is not to “clog” it – and everything will be fine without detox. Yet these detox spas and detox treatments are marketing pitfalls. What do you think about this and how would you argue?
Tatiana Skirda: Of course, if a person lives a healthy life, eats organic products, thinks only about the beautiful, drinks clean water, lives in the forest, has dosed physical activity, good genes, then he does not need a detox. His body will cope perfectly with waste products and self-cleaning. But how often do we meet such people? Correctly! Infrequently! And even very rarely. Therefore, detox procedures are, figuratively speaking, “repentance for the sinner and forgiveness of sins.”
Live-up!: Explain what is their essence and what is the benefit to the body?
Tatiana Skirda: Detox is like resetting the program, after which a person begins to feel strength, freshness, and health.
Live-up!: Who is your detox center for?
Tatiana Skirda: The center is designed for those who think about their health, when it seems too early to think about it.
Live-up!: For people like me, it means ? Why did you get the idea to open a detox center?
Tatiana Skirda: The idea to open a detox studio did not come suddenly. She lived with me all her adult life, fueled by the experience, knowledge and incredible interest in this topic. I try to live so as not to “litter”. And I really want my relatives, friends and just other people to have the same feeling of a healthy life. And in the end it turned out, as in that saying: “What I see, I sing. What I live for, this is what I work! “
Live-up!: What are the features of your center?
Tatiana Skirda: The main difference is individuality. It sounds trite: this word has already been blurred, but we really practice an individual approach. There are a huge number of methods of longevity, principles of nutrition, methods of rejuvenation, cleansing. Sometimes they come into conflict with each other. To an uninitiated person, this may even instill a frivolous attitude towards these techniques. And everything is very simple: almost all of them have a right to exist, but each method has its own patient. We carefully analyze the data of a specific person: we study a detailed questionnaire that he fills out, and medical tests, we conduct an hour and a half meeting with a doctor. Only after receiving all the necessary information, we can say, we sew an individual health jacket: the doctor writes the entire program (food, medical procedures, detox drinks, sports activity, hydrotherapy) and gives it to the appropriate services of the spa hotel. This allows you to assign only the programs necessary for a specific person. So, an individual approach is our first difference.
Second: we combine body detox with mind detox (we use different techniques – from ancient to modern – so that a person can relieve the psychological burden of stress, depression).
Third: we offer an integrated approach to physical body preparation (these are hydrotherapy programs with yoga, Nordic walking and Pilates).
Further, the hotel itself is very beautiful, corresponds to 4 stars, and the new building – 5 stars, and this is also our feature.
Finally, among our differences, I will name the synergy of ancient methods of treatment with modern ones.
Live-up!: What kind of techniques are used, tell us in more detail?
Tatiana Skirda: We use homeopathy, herbal medicine, acupuncture, classical medicine, Kneipp hydrotherapy, traditional Russian principles of cleansing (bath procedure with fir and birch brooms on a straw mattress with honey and salt), mud therapy, individual detox drinks, Nordic walking, yoga, Pilates, classes in the pool. We widely use nutritional treatments: green smoothies, whitgrass, superfoods, specially formulated meals (clean, combined, full of free energy).
Live-up!: Who are you targeting? Can we say that a foreign spa is your role model?
Tatiana Skirda: Always jealous of the role model! I live by the principle: “Don’t make yourself an idol”! I have been to many centers. Since I won’t say anything pleasant, I won’t mention the name. Everywhere I felt that the programs were standard and that I was one of many. But I haven’t been to American rehab. They say that everything there is also very serious and not put on stream. We focus only on our knowledge and experience, that’s why we created this Green me method ourselves.
Live-up!: Please give 5-6 recommendations on how to regularly carry out home detox treatments for those who cannot afford an inpatient program.
Tatiana Skirda: I’d like to give not recommendations for detox procedures, but just advice:
- Try going to bed for 1 month between 22.00 pm and 22.30 pm.
- Drink pure water and ivan tea, do not drink coffee and regular teas (black, green).
- Walk 30 minutes before bed.
- Drink a green smoothie (about 400-700 milliliters a day). Follow this link for recipes.
- Do an ice dip. In a container with water and ice, dip your face while holding your breath and hold for the maximum amount of time: as long as the breath lasts. Then, without wiping, apply the cream.
- Take a vow not to turn on the TV, but to read your favorite book.
In a month, your life will change irreversibly.
