Almost every girl at least once dreamed of becoming a princess – as beautiful and charming as in cartoons or fairy tales. With age, this desire does not disappear, but is transformed, and in order to feel like a princess, it is not necessary to dress up in a beautiful dress, put on a crown and order a carriage (although it is not forbidden). Important for big and little girls feel themselves as princesses, and this does not require a title from birth and appropriate clothing.
We will talk about a wonderful holiday, the main purpose of which is to declare publicly: everyone can be a princess!
When is International Princess Day celebrated?
This holiday has several dates.
The most famous – 5 May, on this date and in 2022 will celebrate International Princess Day.
Circle in red another day of the calendar: 18 November. It falls on a similar holiday – National Princess Day. It is young: the founders decided to hold it on this date every year, starting from 2017.
This was the general idea of the representatives of Swan Princess. From their point of view, a memorable day should remind modern people about the beautiful, warm and so kind cartoon – “The Swan Princess”, released on this day, but in 1994, and also that there is a little pretty princess in every lady, who deserves to be royalty.
By the way, the music for this work was written a long time ago, in 1877, by the world-famous composer P. I. Tchaikovsky.
History
Princesses have been popular at all times. And if earlier they were admired for life circumstances, then with the advent of the era of cinema and television, they became magical creatures who can do everything.
Movies and cartoons have allowed us to look at old stories from a new angle. The first adaptations of children’s fairy tales (although now we would not consider them children’s) appeared in the late 30s of the XX century. Then, in 1937, the first “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” was released, one of the earliest Disney animated films – this is a cult cartoon that opens the era of princesses on television. Much later, another princess overturned all traditional views on these heroines in 1995, when the TV series Xena: Warrior Princess was released (in the original, she is considered a princess, not a queen, since in English the name of the series sounds like Xena: Warrior princess”).
However, these two masterpieces are not related to National Princess Day. And the creation of the holiday itself was influenced by the appearance of the cartoon “The Swan Princess” – a musical adaptation of one of the most famous productions of “Swan Lake”.
Holiday traditions
Traditions, as such, have not been formed for this holiday. But who forbids coming up with your own?
- First, remember that you are a princess. Is always.
- Secondly, princesses can do anything! (within the framework of the Criminal Code and common sense)
- Thirdly, the princesses need to rest – and do this!
But more seriously, if you have children, you can arrange a holiday for them and have fun there too. Invite your friends (yours or your child) and have a themed party with sparkly and fancy dresses, magic wands, magic and beautiful surroundings.
