International passport for a child under one year old through state services
If you plan to travel with the whole family abroad after the birth of a baby, you must issue a passport for a child under one year old. It will not work just to enter the baby into your passport, these are the current laws. You can start drawing up the document immediately after receiving the metric.
The procedure for obtaining a children’s passport of a new and old sample
Only one of the parents or an official guardian can receive the document; proxies and family members cannot do this.
A passport for a child under one year old can only be issued by a parent or guardian
To obtain a passport for children under one year old, you need the following documents:
- application form from parents for a child for the issuance of a passport;
- bank receipt confirming payment of the state duty in the amount of 1 or 1,5 rubles. – you can find out the payment details on the websites of the FMS of Russia in your area of residence;
- the applicant’s Russian passport and its copy;
- original and copy of the metric, citizenship stamp;
- baby photos 4 pcs.
Children’s ordinary passport is valid for 5 years. If you make a biometric document, its validity is twice as long – 10 years. You do not need to paste a new photo into it. If you travel with this document across the border when the child is older and you will not recognize him on the passport photo, the border guards may require a birth certificate. It must contain a mark on the issuance of a passport with its details.
Receiving a document through State services
You can get a passport in two ways – with a personal visit to the FMS and on the State Services website. To obtain a document through the website, you must register on the portal of State Services, enter your personal account to order the service, and fill out a number of questionnaires. A brief description of the procedure for obtaining a passport through the website:
- Indicate your location and choose the nearest FMS branch to receive the document.
- Indicate who you belong to the child – mother, father, guardian. The system will automatically add the personal data entered by you during registration, but the place of your birth and passport data must be specified manually.
- Indicate your registration data, consistently answering the questions of the proposed system of the questionnaire.
- Indicate the basic data of the child and information from the birth certificate.
- Fill out a questionnaire, depending on the type of your application – at the place of residence, if you have temporary registration, at the place of actual stay.
- Upload a photo of the child in 35 x 45 mm format and submit an application. Find out about the results of its consideration in your personal account.
You can pick up the finished document at the FMS branch you specified. If a child leaves the country with one of the relatives, without parents, a power of attorney must be drawn up with a notary.
