The ham celebrates its most international meeting, surrounded by the best quality and especially consumer expectations for the coming months.
El First International Ham Congress 2016, will be held in the capital of Spain, this weekend, with interesting educational and leisure proposals.
It will be the next 9 and 10 July, in the gardens of the Official College of Architects COAM, on Hortaleza Street in Madrid, where professionals and the general public will be able to learn more about the exciting world of pig curing.
The event is promoted by the National Association of Ham Cutters (ANCJ), and has an informative as well as a social objective, since the funds collected will go to the Spanish Federation of Food Banks (FESBAL), to support the solidarity work that its fifty associations do every day.
Ham is one of the main food products in our country and its Spanish product seal is a guarantee of quality and above all flavor.
In the international framework, in recent years, the product has stood out for its great acceptance in different countries that already have it as a gourmet food and especially valued nutritionally and dietetically.
The Art of Ham cutting
Among the different activities that the organization of the event proposes to visitors, are the presentations and round tables around the breeding, curing processes and care and maintenance of the ham, as well as the live exhibitions.
We highlight the contest that will be held on Sunday 10 from 11 a.m., where the intrepid cutters will fight to win the award in the VIII National Championship of Ham Cutters.
We will see them perfectly uniformed, as the rules of the association refer to, with their pants, jacket and black shoes, which together with the apron with the official corporate image endows them with professionalism and above all belonging to this select group of service professionals.
Not in vain the ANCJ seeks to defend the figure of the Professional Ham Cutter and is the main precursor of events, competitions, news and innovations in the world of knife cutting of ham.
