When is International Cake Day?
International Cake Day 2022 falls on July 20. It has a fixed date and is considered one of the brightest, kindest and “sweetest” holidays.
History
No one knows the exact date of the appearance of the first cake. It is believed that the history of this dessert has more than 2000 years. Drawings of unusual pies sprinkled with crushed grain were found in Greece, in the East since ancient times there has been a sweetness in the form of nuts with honey, outwardly very reminiscent of a cake. According to some sources, the progenitor is Italy. The word “cake” is translated from Italian as “florid”, “richly decorated”. However, the fact is undeniable that we owe France to modern desserts with their exquisite taste and chic design that have conquered the world. For many centuries, French confectioners have been the founders of fashion trends in this direction.
We owe the appearance of the International Cake Day to the non-profit union of creative people in Milan – the “Kingdom of Love”. It was invented with the aim of spreading to the masses the idea of love, friendship, humanism on the globe. After all, no matter how fragrant tea with a delicious cake brings people together, makes them forget insults and push disagreements into the background.

In 2011, this holiday was already held on a global scale. Many countries around the world took part, including Our Country, Moldova, Belarus, the USA. Then the International Friendship Cake was created. Representatives of different states sent photos of their creations to the organizers. After processing the information received, an image of a nationwide cake was created, which became the personification of friendship and peace throughout the world.
