Despite the fact that boxing is the oldest type of martial arts, it has acquired its own holiday not so long ago. The red day in the calendar appeared thanks to one event in Our Country.
During the celebration of the All- Boxing Day on July 22, 2017, the athletes organized the most mass training. It even entered the Guinness Book of Records as the thematic event with the largest number of participants. More than 3000 people on Red Square had a boxing training that day under the guidance of Olympic champions Oleg Saitov and Alexei Tishchenko. In Our Country, the number of participants who joined the event remotely amounted to 50 people. Then all the athletes lined up in the word “Boxing” in accordance with the arrangement of the colors of the flag.
The president of the International Boxing Association, Ching-Kuo Wu, who was present that day at the celebration, was so impressed by the grandiose nature of the event that he proposed to celebrate International Boxing Day on July 22 every year.
But later, in 2021, by the decision of the International Boxing Association, the holiday was postponed to August 27: it was on this day in 1974 that the first world boxing championship was held in Havana.

International Boxing Day is celebrated in many cities and countries, but the main events usually take place in the capital.
By tradition, tournaments and other festive events in Moscow are attended not only by domestic athletes, but also by representatives of boxers from other countries. On this day, competitions, mass demonstrations, flash mobs, charity events and concerts are organized.
