Interior design trends in 2008

Trends are born at Maison & Objet, the most prestigious exhibition for interior design in the world. Here is an overview of tomorrow’s hot trends.

Breath of Morocco

There is a real Moroccan boom in interior design – thanks to talented Moroccan designers like Arzu Firuz. Perforated metal, hand-made leather, blown glass and hand-woven fabrics – traditional materials have been “reinterpreted” with new shapes and colors.

Design trends

Natural luxury

Nature is now associated with luxury and wealth. Floral ornaments, flowers and herbs on fabrics and furniture sparkle with gold, cast in bronze, dazzle with the brilliance of pearls and platinum.

Purple and gray

The most fashionable range in the interior is lilac-gray – an unexpected but surprisingly elegant combination of colors.

Chic jokes

Fluffy fur, coarse wool, chunky knitting, untreated wood and the theme of hunting – alpine chic reigns in the interior of the next year.

Japanese domination

The oriental style, which does not lose its relevance, is turned towards Japan in 2008. Today, more than ever, bright, clean colors, stylized floral motifs, hand-sewn and origami broken lines are in demand.
