3 bright projects with approximate estimates for repairs from the designers of the magazine “Home”.
Each time of the day, or rather, each meal, has its own color combination! This is exactly what our designers decided when starting the design of the dining room. And, as the result showed, I don’t want to argue with them.
Dining room interior design
Cheerful morning

The coloristic basis of this dining room was formed by a bright blue color. It is in this shade that the walls are painted. As for the companion colors, they were white and yellow. The first smooths out the excessive activity of bright walls, the second allows you to place a few, but necessary accents here.
The designer decided not to experiment with the layout and turned to the traditional arrangement of furniture. Thus, in the center of the dining room, which occupies only a part of the room, there is a dining table surrounded by chairs. On the contrary, near the wall, there is a low sideboard. In the second half of the room there is a living room.
The designer tried to fill the room with light as much as possible. Thus, the window is draped with an almost transparent fabric, and a ceiling lamp with a large lampshade is placed above the center of the dining table.
The chairs, original in shape and execution, have an important advantage: they let in light, and therefore do not clutter up the space. The yellow color was used very carefully. The coloristic emphasis is placed on the dining table and a few accessories.
With such a contrasting combination of colors, which was chosen for the design of the living-dining room, it does not make sense to over complicate the serving. White ceramic or porcelain plates, transparent glass goblets are a simple, but most suitable solution. In addition, if desired, any color can be added using paper napkins or decor.

The designer judged that the dining room, which is designed to host “staged” dinners, best suited the combination of green and red. According to this concept, all the main finishing materials and accessories were selected. A curious technique was used to visually enlarge the space. A niche is arranged in one wall, imitating a doorway in its size and shape. It was filled with a photo wallpaper depicting a living room and decorated with polyurethane foam stucco molding. This is how an illusory passage to another room appeared in the dining room.
For serving a dinner party, silver and tinted or colorless glass are most suitable. By the way, it is not at all necessary to choose the same wine glasses.
Original wall decorations – fabric panels – are easy to make with your own hands. To do this, you need to cut out a “stretcher” of the required size and shape from thick cardboard and cover or paste over it with cloth.
A small stack of plates can be decorated with matching additions – a textile napkin and an egg holder. According to etiquette, after numerous main courses and desserts, fruit and brandy or liqueur are supposed to be served on the table.

Exclusively by means of planning, or rather, the arrangement of furniture, the room is divided into two zones – a dining room and a living room. As for the color scheme, the designer preferred monochrome, which is actual today – a combination of black and white. It would seem that the choice for a typical apartment is extraordinarily daring. Yet our rooms are characterized by a lack of space rather than an excess. Nevertheless, the room has not lost its volume. And on top of that, the activity of the black walls was skillfully balanced by the light gray flooring and white furnishings.
White is not a cause for concern. The sofa cover is easy to wash or dry-clean, and it is enough to wipe the dust from the cabinet items.
The evening menu shouldn’t be too fancy. Here is the optimal set of dishes: fish, followed by a green salad, tea with a light dessert, and fruits. The third color, introduced through accessories or, say, indoor plants, will help to rid the black and white interior of excessive theatricality.
So that the ornaments (for example, on curtains and tablecloths) do not contradict each other, it is easiest to make both products from the same fabric. White wine can be offered in a decanter, thus paying tribute to the tradition of small European restaurants.
