Interior decoration ideas: dry plants

Dried flowers, leaves and spikelets – decoration for the interior, timeless and fashionable! We glue graceful panels from dried gifts of nature.

Making such compositions is not difficult at all. For work you need: lilac acrylic paint, liquid nails, hot glue and a hot melt glue gun, water-based varnish or regular hairspray, brushes, six A4 watercolor sheets, six primed canvases. You will also need dry plants. You can buy them in the store or prepare yourself, remembering school botany lessons.

Dry plants

  • Sheets of paper for watercolors are used as the basis for the wall panel. Paint adheres well to them, moreover, they do not warp after drying. Using a wide flat brush, a thick layer of lilac acrylic paint is applied to the watercolor sheet. The operation is repeated six times – according to the number of sheets.
  • After the layer of paint has dried, liquid nails are applied to the back of each watercolor sheet around the perimeter. Then the base is pressed tightly against the primed canvas.
  • Hot glue sets very quickly (30 seconds), so the flower arrangement is first “tried on” and only after that it is finally fixed on the base. After the glue has set, the composition is coated with a water-borne varnish or hairspray. It will protect the panel from accidental damage, protect it from dust.
  • The wall herbarium is ready!
