Interesting DIY ideas for your interior.

Some bright colors, suitable accessories and inspiration are all that is needed to update a boring interior. We have collected exactly 30 ideas for those who are bored with old walls.

1. Make a rearrangement

Move the sofa away from the wall and place it in the middle of the room, remove the carpet from the wall and put it on the floor, rearrange the floor lamp and cabinet. Here’s a new interior for you!

2. Let nature into your home

Fruits, pine twigs, dried blades of grass, sand and pebbles from the sea shore – all this splendor will look great in glass vases of different sizes. I no longer mention bouquets of fresh flowers.

3. Balance the interior

Use the pairing principle to balance the interior. Two chairs, two lamps, two vases, two identical flowers in pots, etc. A tree in a tub opposite a tall cabinet will also be in place.

4. Repaint the walls or change the wallpaper

This is an effective way that can dramatically transform any room. By the way, original stickers are now being produced for the decoration of various surfaces (furniture, walls).

5. Upgrade the doors

Paint the old wooden doors with a contrasting color. Glass inserts can be decorated with stickers. You can also change the handles if you wish.

6. Decorate your bedding

Sew on brightly colored tape around the edges of the pillowcases and duvet cover – plain linen will be instantly transformed.

7. Increase the space

Expand the space of a small room with a large mirror that hangs on the wall, reflecting light and adding air to the space. (By the way, this technique is great for a cramped hallway.)

8. Get rid of the big table

Swap out a rectangular coffee table for two smaller ones, one round or one with a glass top – each of these options will help to visually increase the space of the room.

9. Find a place for your collection

Collect all of the items in your home collection together. It doesn’t matter if they are designer vases, miniature cars, ladybugs or gzhel. Presented entirely on one bookshelf or shelf, your collection will immediately gain weight and grab the attention of guests.

10. Create a family photo gallery

Buy the same frames (or paint different ones in the same color) and group them on the wall or on the shelf as you like (read about the principles of creating a home gallery here).

11. Update furniture

Change the upholstery of upholstered chairs and couches, or simply put covers on them.

12. Arrange a general cleaning

Remove clutter in your living room and hallway with furniture with hidden sections, such as poufs with a cover seat, cardboard boxes and drawers that can be easily tucked away under the sofa and bench.

13. Don’t forget the carpets!

If they were, remove them and put them out of sight. If not, purchase at least one. Even a small striped walkway can create a new mood in the interior.

14. Decorate the lamp

Refresh your fixture with a new shade in a different shape, color and pattern.

15. Take a closer look at the lighting in the bedroom

Change the light bulbs in the bedroom to weaker ones (rated for less watts) to create a romantic atmosphere. By the way, you can also use colored bulbs.

16. Refresh the curtains

Swap out old dull curtains and curtains for new, bright and light ones (they can be rayon or organza). Please note: long curtains on the floor allow you to visually enlarge small windows.

17. Give preference to tablecloths

Cover the table with a tablecloth or place a decorative napkin on top of it. The tablecloth can easily replace an oriental pareo, a scarf or a piece of fabric. The drapery can also be used on a low coffee table, as it will hide the magazines and newspapers lying on the lower section.

18. Change the color of your furniture

Paint your wood furniture an unexpected color to give your room a whole new flair. A safe bet, as always, is white.

19. Get rid of old towels

Change the set of bath and kitchen towels. Let their color match the season and your mood.

20. Decorate the bed

Make an original headboard for the bed with your own hands: for this, cover a piece of plywood with a bright fabric (see the master class here).

21. Add accessories

Several oriental pillows will liven up an old sofa or armchair. You can make them yourself or buy ready-made ones.

22. Experiment with styles

Mix different styles, the interior will only benefit from this. So, grandma’s bronze candlesticks will look very modern on a high-tech glass table.

23. Decorate your bookcase

Decorate the inside wall of a bookcase, shelving or sideboard with a piece of wallpaper or cloth – this eye-catching design trick will draw the attention of guests to what will be behind the glass.

24. Add wicker furniture

Introduce wicker furniture from the street into your home. Even one such summer chair will create an atmosphere of relaxation and comfort in the room.

25. Use space effectively

Hang shelves over windows. This way you make the most of your wall space while also showing everyone your pottery or CD collection.

26. Add colors

Repaint the ceiling in one of the rooms in sky blue … or whatever.

27. Decorate the walls

Decorate your walls with themed mini galleries. Pull pages out of magazines about gardening, fashion, travel, and more (old menus, posters, maps, diplomas, and even pieces of contrasting wallpaper or fabric will come in handy) and frame them.

28. Refresh your bathroom decor

Change the curtain and rug in the bathroom – there is no easier way to refresh this room!

29. Turn your bathroom into a spa

Give your bathroom a spa feel. Use the open shelves to display all your treasures – scented lotions and gels, bath bombs and scented soaps.

30. Renew the hallway

Swap out your old messy hallway rug for a new and fun one to please your guests.
