Inhalations into the sinuses are most often performed with sinusitis. However, they can also be performed in the case of persistent runny nose in the course of a cold or even during an allergy attack with a severe runny nose that clogs the upper respiratory tract.

Symptoms of sinusitis include severe pain between the eyebrows, in the forehead, and at the tip of the nose, which increases with exertion or tilting the head. Inflammation may also result in fever, lack of appetite, and general weakness. What to make sinus inhalations from?

What to make sinus inhalations from? Professionally, you can do sinus inhalations with a nebulizer or inhaler, but if we do not have such devices at home, a bowl of hot water, a towel and herbs or oils are enough. Inhalations for the sinuses should be done with the use of antibacterial herbs or essential oils in order to clear the sinuses at the same time, but also introduce an antibacterial agent that will speed up the treatment of the infection itself. In addition, the essential oils themselves irritate the mucosa, which increases the secretion of mucus and its thinning. As a result, the residual mucus flows out of the sinuses faster and can be quickly cleaned and the upper respiratory tract unblocked.

For inhalation, you can also use Zabłocka bromine brine mist for inhalation, which supports the treatment of diseases of the respiratory tract, throat, nose and sinuses, and additionally improves immunity. We also recommend brine for inhalation and bathing, currently available at a promotional price on Medonet Market. To perform proper inhalation, it is worth using a suitable device, e.g. a pneumatic piston inhaler with particle size regulation Flaem 4Neb. It has 4 modes of operation and enables fast and effective nebulization.

Inhalations for the sinuses can be done with the addition of: eucalyptus, camphor, thyme, pine, lavender, marjoram or peppermint oils. Instead of essential oils, you can prepare tea or a decoction of sage leaves, mint, lavender or thyme herb. You can put about 50 g of one herb in hot water or brew several bags of herbal tea, e.g. sage, for the same effect.

To naturally heat the herbs and carry out inhalation, you can use:

  1. waporyzatora Storz & Bickel Volcano Classic,
  2. portable vaporizer Crafty Storz & Bickel Crafty +,
  3. waporyzatora DynaVap the M 2020,
  4. waporyzatora Fenix Mini.

How to make sinus inhalations?

Oil or herbs are added to hot water. It is best to prepare boiling water in a bowl that will be easy to place in front of you on the table or even on a pillow and lap. Inhalation into the sinuses consists in inhaling such vapors, so you need to place your head as close as possible to the evaporating water and cover yourself with a towel. The inhalation itself should take about 10 minutes. It is important to protect the warmed sinuses after inhalation from a sudden drop in temperature, e.g. in winter it is good to wear a hat, even when walking around the house, until the forehead and sinuses cool down after inhalation. You can use an inhaler to facilitate inhalation. Inhalers and nebulizers for children and adults are already available on Medonet Market.

Sinus inhalations should be repeated for 5 to 7 days or until symptoms disappear. They can also be done prophylactically once a week, especially in people who often suffer from sinusitis. Contraindications to the use of inhalation include, among others respiratory haemorrhages, severe heart failure, respiratory failure.

If your sinus problems are still troublesome despite inhaling, you may need additional tests. These include MRI of the sinuses, which can be performed privately at the MRI Diagnostics clinic.
