Influenza is a multi-component drug, the main use of which is in the treatment of flu, cold and flu. The preparation contains three ingredients: dextromethorphan hydrobromide, paracetamol and pseudoephedrine hydrochloride. The drug is available without a prescription and comes in the form of coated tablets.

Influenza is an over-the-counter medicine in the form of coated tablets. It contains, inter alia, paracetamol. Influenza is recommended primarily in the states of colds. How should the drug be dosed? Are there any contraindications to its use?

Influenza stop – application

Grypostop is a multi-component preparation, the main active substances of which are paracetamol, pseudoephedrine hydrochloride and dextromethorphan hydrobromide. The drug is used in the course of colds – infections of the upper respiratory tract often with fever. The ingredients are not only antipyretic, but also antitussive and analgesic. In addition, the agent has a decongestant effect on clogged, infected paranasal sinuses. The drug also reduces the amount of mucus secretions, and also minimizes swelling and congestion of the mucosa of the nasal passages.

1 tablet contains 30 mg of pseudoephedrine hydrochloride, 15 mg of dextromethorphan hydrobromide, 325 mg of paracetamol. In addition, the drug contains auxiliary substances, including microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, polyethylene glycol, magnesium stearate, polysorbate 80. Dosing of the drug should be carried out in accordance with the recommendations of a specialist doctor or with the information provided in the package leaflet. The drug is intended for oral use only, it cannot be used by children under 12 years of age. Do not take more than 8 tablets a day, adults and children over 12 years of age should take 2 tablets 3 or 4 times a day, at least 4 hours apart. A very important information is that, without consulting a doctor, Grypostop can be taken for a maximum of 3 days.

Influenza stop – contraindications

Influenza should not be used by everyone. The main contraindication to taking the drug is allergy or hypersensitivity to any component of the drug. Influenza should also not be taken by patients with:

  1. anemia
  2. renal or hepatic insufficiency
  3. if you are pregnant or breastfeeding
  4. in patients with cystic fibrosis
  5. with hypertension
  6. severe ischemic heart disease
  7. with bronchial asthma
  8. coughing with a lot of discharge
  9. with other diseases of the respiratory system
  10. with an enlarged prostate

Influenza can not be used simultaneously with drugs that inhibit protein, anticoagulants, agents containing paracetamol, with sleeping pills, antiepileptic drugs.

Influenza like other drugs may cause side effects and side effects, while taking the drug the following may occur:

  1. nausea and vomiting
  2. abdominal pain
  3. dizziness
  4. rash, itching
  5. somnolence
  6. shortness of breath
  7. mood disorders
  8. skin allergic reactions
  9. constipation

Any disturbing symptoms should be reported to a physician who may decide to discontinue the drug completely, reduce the dose or introduce a substitute.
