Inflating balloons, going to the bathhouse and other activities that are prohibited after COVID-19

Doctors categorically forbid doing some of the usual procedures. We list.

Influenza or ARVI is stress for the body, after which it takes time to recover, and a new coronavirus infection is even more stressful. Already today, all doctors in the world say that 70% of those who have recovered have disorders of the lungs, blood vessels, heart, kidneys, etc. First of all, those organs are affected, which even before COVID-19 functioned imperfectly. You should definitely discuss all stages of rehabilitation with your attending physician, we only list some known limitations.

What should not be done for those who have had coronavirus?

  • Start active training. All doctors unanimously say that after pneumonia and coronavirus, active physical activity should be returned gradually and no earlier than six months later. Exercise equipment, weight training, heavy cardio workouts, jogging – leave it all at a later date.

What is possible? Start with regular, comfortable outdoor walks. Preferably in the morning and evening. First for 5 minutes, then increase the time, control your heart rate and saturation. But no marches.

The first time after the illness is not recommended and Scandinavian walking.

  • Inflate balloons. Your lungs after covid did not return to normal, they were seriously damaged. And you, by exerting effort and inflating the balloons, injure them and can get impaired lung function and breathing. And again to be in the hospital with a new serious illness.

What is possible? Breathe out the air through the cocktail tube into a glass of water. Inhale slowly, count to 4, exhale through a straw, but as you exhale, count to 6.

  • Go to the swimming pool. Due to the chlorination of the water in the next 3 months after COVID-19, it is not worth visiting the pool. And then gradually start training, but not with types of swimming, which implies active exhalation through the water. For example, leave the butterfly and crawl for a later time. Swim in a relaxed position on your back or in a measured breast stroke. Remember that you are not striving for the Olympic team, but are slowly recovering your physical shape.

  • To visit the bathhouse and sauna, to take walrus. In order not to strain the blood vessels and the heart, forget about such shock thermal procedures for 3-4 months. It is also not worth taking walruses and diving into the ice plunge pool.

  • Do oil inhalations. Our grandmothers were treated with oil inhalations for any colds, believing that in this way they disinfect the lungs and relieve inflammation. In no case should you do this after a new infection: the essential oil evaporates poorly and enters the respiratory tract undissolved, settling in the alveoli (namely, they suffer from COVID-19 in the first place). Only air should enter the lungs.

  • Drink herbal infusions and rub the body. Forget herbal teas for coughs, corona is not a cold cough. If you get carried away with herbs, you run the risk of getting an allergic reaction. Rubbing, compresses with badger fat, honey, alcoholic herbal remedies are not useful either. There is no benefit, and you can cause serious harm.

  • Go to the beautician. Postpone active thermal procedures and beauty shots for 3-4 months after recovery.

What is possible? Take care of yourself at home. Give time to move away from the disease, although, we understand, I would like to return to the usual as soon as possible.

  • Go on a diet. Even if you put on a couple of extra pounds while in quarantine, this is not the time to impose strict restrictions. Your body needs care, love and nutritious nutrition with sufficient protein, fat and vitamins.

What is possible? The basis of your diet: fish, meat and lots of vegetables, herbs and fruits. Observe the water balance.

  • Drinking alcohol. A new insidious virus very often hits the blood vessels. And it is for this reason that, in order not to strain the vessels already tired after the illness, it is necessary to limit the use of alcohol, and it is better to exclude it altogether in the first six months after recovery.

  • Sleep less. Sleep – at least 8-9 hours, no overload and work at night. This is very important in COVID-19 rehabilitation. If insomnia begins that does not go away after walking before bed, limit your work at the computer and do not sit on the phone for a long time. And the doctor will select the necessary drug therapy for you.

  • Pay no attention to your emotions. After the “crown” you will experience an emotional swing for several months: the mood from “wow, life is beautiful” to “everything is ashes.” Be honest and accept different emotions. Yes, I am sad, worried, but why? What’s worried about? What is my fear? How can I help myself? What will calm me down?

What will help?

  1. Begin writing an emotion diary by writing down any impulses (what triggered and what calmed you) several times a day. This way you will learn to understand yourself.

  2. Body practices such as square breathing are helpful.

  3. You may need to see a psychotherapist to help you get back to your daily routine faster.

The main thing that you should do after an illness is to pamper yourself, love, not burden and not strain. All slowly, dosed, carefully: they took a step, listened to themselves!
