The lesions may be covered with yellowish scabs due to ragging or a whitish coating resulting from superinfection with Candida albicans. The erosions in the corners of the mouth can rupture when the mouth is opened wider.

Treatment of seizures is well done when the cause of the disease is discovered. For this purpose, swabs are taken from the mouth, tongue and corners of the mouth. The treatment of mouth corner inflammation should be based on local and general causes. The venom has the ability to heal itself, but there are some ways that can help speed up healing. It is recommended that:
- using protective lipsticks, aloe vera, honey or cucumber compresses, petroleum jelly or protective creams for the lips, especially in severe frosts;
- lubrication of problem places with ointment with vitamin A, B2 or E; it can also be a zinc ointment with a drying and exfoliating effect;
- use of panthenol ointments;
- using agents containing lactic acid;
- the use of antifungal and anti-inflammatory preparations;
- applying ointments containing plant extracts to the corners of the mouth, e.g. horse chestnut extract;
- applying crushed yeast containing vitamin B to the diseased areas;
- applying a crushed acetylsalicylic acid tablet previously dissolved in water to the seizures;
- lubricating the lips;
- the use of moisturizing and regenerating creams (we recommend, for example, Actisoftin – cream for snacks with panthenol and natural plant extracts).
Note: The sooner the appropriate treatment is implemented, the lower the risk of complications, e.g. unsightly scars.

- compliance with the rules of oral hygiene (tooth treatment, replacement of a toothbrush with a new one);
- a diet high in vitamins, especially B vitamins and minerals; it is worth reducing the amount of sweets, coffee and alcohol in the diet;
- avoiding irritation of the corners of the mouth in a mechanical way;
- avoiding frequent licking of lips;
- avoiding constant stress;
- making sure that the child does not put objects in his mouth and uses the pacifier for too long; if, however, he has inflamed the corners of his mouth, make sure that the teethers and toothbrush used are thrown away.
For a better condition of your lips, reach for the Bioherba Nourishing Lip Gloss, which not only gives a beautiful shine to your lips, but also cares for their skin.
If the treatment and prophylaxis do not work, and the problem of mouth corner inflammation keeps coming back – go to a doctor who will find the cause of this ailment. In some cases, it may be necessary to perform laboratory tests.
